TLDR at the bottom for the reading impaired.

It's sad that I can't get accepted by people looking for a 1.3, when I'm world's better than that. I'm sure others have the same problem.
There's a blanket KD for your current character. But it's accumulative since the release of trials. So basically a ton of us are instantly rejected because we weren't too good at first or weren't meta whores.
Did you know that year 2 KDs and weekly KDs are one finger away? I know a bunch of people that killed it in year one and have like 1.7 kds. But in year 2? A 1.2 and weekly 1.0s.. Basically showing they slowly got worse and worse. But since they have a 1.7 accumulative they are looked at as God's and accepted by everyone.
Then there's people like me. Had a 1.1 year one kd. And over 1.3 year two kd and a weekly over 1.6.. showing vast improvement. But since my accumulated KD is so low 1.22 - 1.28 across my characters I can't get a single person on lfg play with me. In 2 weeks I raised my titan KD from 1.1 to 1.22.. that's hard to do when you played us much trials as I have and wasn't that good. I know others are in the same boat. I'm using myself as an example.
TLDR. There are good people that now suck. And bad/avg people that now do quite well. Stop judging us by the damn cover. Take the amount of games we've played into consideration. Weekly KDs. Number of registered flawless cards (because you can only get credit for 3x a week) high number of flawless means they are versatile on all characters and not just a one trick pony.

My K/d is what it is because 1) the other team was better than I was, 2) coin runs, 3) trying out an LFG team and realizing it isn't gonna work and 4) just dicking around helping people with bounties or get to 7 wins. I know I'm a decent player so that's all that matters lol

1 Replyhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect I'll just leave this here

1 ReplyI've got a 1.4 KD and a 85% headshot ratio with snipers, yet nobody accepts me just because I haven't been flawless. How will I ever go flawless?
-
Lol. Its true. *need flawless, 2.0 kd* well, i can go i flawless if you DONT LET ME GO IN THE FIRST PLACE!

3 RepliesEdited by Iyrha: 4/26/2016 10:28:25 PMI have a decent-ish K/D but I play a LOT against great players and mess around with my buddies doing stupid shit. Most of the people with super high K/D's do nothing but pubstomp, K/D is a factor, but it's not the only indicator of skill level.

Personally, people think to much about kd. Three players that know the map, play together regularly, and have good communication will win over a group of lfg kd kiddies most of the time.
-
Everything's good besides your kd xD

If they say must have same stats or better I just respond to them with this: my stats are the same: we're both single. Worked once
-
If you're ever on while I run trial just send me an invite. I try to run with everybody on my list Atleast once or twice.
-
you have pretty good stats I have a couple of good players that I run with, if you want to run with us you can
-
Lol. Cuz they stupid and think that stats matter in this game.
-
You look pretty decent if you ask me

I spent several weeks eating a -blam!- ton of shanky deaths to coach some pvp averse clan mates on methods to approach trials with (they got better and more confident—it was worth it). Also played well past 5am and found myself consistently shooting thin air some nights :) So shit happens. And stats are just a heuristic which is the gist of your argument. That people use them for that purpose sucks but when you go back and acknowledge what a heuristic even is they're just trying to save time. They need some kind of clues from your history to use as a barrier for entry if they're not ready to just take anyone on. As far as a solution goes: Rolling k/d seems like a strong factor you could sell. No idea where the lfg scene is at now though

I agree. My trials k/d is kinda low but I've been flawless enough times to carry my own weight! I remember when trials wasn't even an activity yet! xD I've probably played longer than half of the scrubs who are demanding high k/d's. They probably played a grand total of 10 games and got their 10.0 k/d, thinking it means they have skill...

5 RepliesYeah all kd really shows anyhow is your playstyle. High kd shows you most likely snipe and play passively. Lower kd means you like to risk it with a shotty most likely and rush. What people should look for is win %.

You could restart your character... When I first started on Xbox I had ~1.5 but when I switched to Playstation (around begining of HoW time) my kd quickly rose to ~1.8 Then by Taken king I hit 2.0. Point is, a fresh start will give you a more recent kd.
