Cryptarch packs still suck
Since the update only one pack I've gotten has had anything other than a blue engram and some motes/coins. The engrams never seem to drop anything over 280 light either. It's never exciting to get a cryptarch rep level.

I dont know about you but I quite enjoy cryptarch packages. Easy to get and O can get shaders from them as well as motes and coins!

3 RepliesWell heres the good and bad thing about cryptarch nowadays. Good. The shaders and emblems we all thought he would drop as soon as year 2 hit never did due to a bug or what the -blam!- ever. But now with this april update every rank up or every other I got the shaders and emblems. And after i believe 7 or 8 rank ups i now have all the year 2 shaders and both emblems. So massive increase for those to drop. I had all the year 1 shaders already so not sure about those. The bad. Any blue or legendary u get will be a crappy level. And none for me at least have been spectar. but free legendary marks, strange coins, and motes of light. To sum it all up levels for decrypted stuff didnt change to grant higher level items but shaders and emblems drop a lot more. Ill take it.

Yeah, most engrams decrypt into garbage, though I can say the same about the sterling chests and vanguard/crucible packages.....4 -blam!-ing spektar helmets out of the last 5 chests I opened, and half of the vanguard/crucible packages have been class items....

All the rewards in this game suck. (But I do agree that Cryptarch sucks even more than the usual suck)

19 RepliesWhat ever are you talking about? You don't like turning in engrams for a week and only getting 2 blue and a mote for you effort?? Back in my day we grinded for a week and he gave us purples that turned into blues.

The cryptarch packages stopped being special ever since they nerfed them on year 1. Even though legendary engrams had a high chance of turning blue, they could still turn legendary 33% of the time, and exotic like 5%. This made acquiring both legendary and exotic items feel way more rewarding than with the current system. Not to mention the packages back then used to almost guarantee you a legendary engram upon opening them, which meant a decent chance of getting a legendary item. After people complained, they managed to make Bungie guarantee you a legendary item upon deciphering legendary engrams; however, Bungie also reduced the chance of getting legendary engrams from the cryptarch packages quite considerably. If I could choose, I'd rather stick to the old system since receiving a legendary from a legendary was way more likely than receiving a legendary from a blue (now).

4 RepliesSo do crucible packages. Have yet to get a f'ing Longbow. I've gotten 3 pairs of boots in a row. Why in the hell am i getting spektar boots out of a crucible package??????????????????

I usually only get one blue engram. More so for the strange coins you get more than anything.

Cryptarch is an utter joke, sadly. I'd at least be happy(er) if my blues all turned into motes, Lord knows I get 50-100 blues a week and they're invaluable for leveling up gear and factions. Sadly they'll never improve his RNG or the light level of his drops... at least not until Destiny 2 comes out. Then he'll drop level 320 gear... when the new light level is 400. ;)

2 RepliesSeems like I rank up the crypt ark everyday now, and I always get the same thing every time now, 2 blue engrams 1 being a year 1 version, don't know if this is a bug, if it is we've missed out on allot of potential rewards.

Yep-only ever get blues. Oh no wait-I got a purple in the summer of 2015...n then it turned blue 😢.

The cryptarch has sucked for a WHILE now dude. I only ever get blue engrams. I probably get a purple every 6 cryptarch levels maybe. I dont understand why its like this when you can sometimes get decent stuff from the others at the tower.

1 Replyyes, the low level drops are b.s, always will be with this loot system. my rank 100 package was a single blue class engram. but across my three characters the past week, pretty sure i got all the cryptarch shaders and emblems. not sure what happened, but Lion Dancer looks bitchin on my warlock

I get legendaries from blues quite often. And i've already received most if not all the shaders and emblems that recently became available with the update. Vallsgarde shader anyone?
