Handcanons are useless in PVE. Buff it

Says all. Handcanons are bad in close to midrange. scouts are better. That you can 1 shoot a thrall is useless. On long range they are really really useless and your 14 sniper shoots cant compansate that. They need a range hit detection buff like in year 1.

    What are you talking about? I get two shot from across the map all the time. The hawkmoon, the eyasluna, and the first curse are all wrecking people in crucible all the time. I just dont have any of those so I can't use them. If you get them try them and you'll see.

    • they wont buff them cuz they cant buff it in pve and not buff it in pvp since the game is on the same code for pvp and pve

      • The ammo nerf made them even worse, I only get 99 shots, and it takes two to three to kill a standard enemy, even more for a higher rank enemy. (captains, knights, etc.)

      • Nope. First Curse says otherwise. Eyasluna. Hawkmoon. They're fine. My favourite weapon archetype is fine.

        • I love my handcannons. I don't have any issues. My First Curse is an incredible weapon in PvE. I'm running a 61% precision kills on it right now. If you are using them to body shot, you're doing it wrong. They only perform when hitting those head shots.

              There should be a difference from PVE and PVP, it's annoying with the ammo Nerf and the amount of ammo that should be spawning. They said that for the little amount of ammo you have we'll compensate by increasing the drop rates. What increased drop rates because I don't really see a difference from patrol -> raid... Also, I have hand cannons I wanna play with but I can't because they just are pee shooters compared to a scout rifle.

            • Oh thank the gods it's not just me lol. Using my Devil You Know on Patrol and was wondering why I had to put four bullets into a Vandal just to drop him. Something just ain't right. I can still kick ass with it but it seems like a much longer TTK.

              • The reason hand cannons were changed is because they were able to cross-map snipe in Y1. Bungie implemented the range changes to prevent that.

              • I don't think they need a buff. At least the hand cannons I used are good. Just have to spec for increased range since that does help with hit detection. I would have recommended the Vanity from FWC, but with the April update, the roll on it changed. Also give First Curse a go. It's really fun and effective in PVE.

                • Next time I run through Challenge of the Elders with my Lord High Fixer then I'll let you know. That aside... They aren't that useless now that the ammo buff came. Just spec for range if you suck at aiming with them. They're meant for people who are sharpshooter.
