I beat campaign Oryx today (cant wait to get raiding!) was awesome! However, I am struck by how much the taken resemble our society: mindless but driven. On a deeper level they embody an idea: that anything is true so long as science proves it, and whatever science proves is true. Its an idea that cant be banished: round earth, moon landings, invisible suction (gravity).
All these spread by association, but have never been proven. They divide and spread like those nasty little psions (thanks for hung jury Bungie!) Our teachers tells us that "gravity" magically holds us to the earth. No further explanation given. What is the explanation of the taken? They are forms that once had wills, bent to the supreme will of a centralized force - Oryx. The mindless internet generation is "taken". We are bent to do whatever the magic circle of scientific magic thinking tells us. Read on twitter that some mystic called a "scientist" discovered gravitational waves, and the infection begins.

Edit: You guys really can't stay on topic. I talk about how great the game is that we all play, yet u all come at me about flat earth fact.

I wish to know how to recreate taken and harness this power

Here ya go

8 RepliesEdited by Majora: 4/25/2016 9:29:30 PMGravity doesn't exist. At least not in the classical sense like the other forces. While other forces have carrier particles I don't think gravity does. Its the effect mass has on space and time, it warps it, causing what appears like attraction but it's more like falling. It's one of the things holding back the unified theory of everything.

4 RepliesOh my God I can see the light Wait I hear a voice it's saying something it's very faint It's saying... It's saying
you're a fucking idiot
You're still celebrating 5 days later? Going hard!

Dude, it's a sci-fi fps game.lol

18 RepliesEdited by Peaches: 4/25/2016 10:47:13 AMSince you don't believe in gravity hopefully you'll just float the f*ck away. You should also note that "scientific theory" is not that same as a "theory." Scientific theory is not just guesses.

5 RepliesAnd there's that one person that takes video games too seriously..

3 RepliesEdited by Epwnymous: 4/25/2016 8:37:30 AMMan this guy has trolling down to a science. Yeah I did.

1 ReplyThat's enough destiny forums for one day........ Good night

1 ReplyI think your confusing science with media, people just google what they want to see and learn, or watch the news to see what's happening in the world; from a biased point of view. Propaganda meant to mislead, confuse, and distract from the real truth. Science is an educated guess, that we as a society hold to be truth until proven differently Lucky for Big Business they have this tool (media) to drip feed all this science into our minds; finger tips on my mind, and the drones march on consumed by such non-sense. One could say society is Taken by such things!! #eyes wide open now; #truth; #movement

8 RepliesGravity is a theory not a fact.
look it up
6 RepliesEdited by Cheez_Lad: 4/25/2016 4:41:57 PMIf gravity doesn't exist, then what do you call the force that makes objects fall to the ground? And if you say "It's weight", weight can not exist without gravity. If you put a object with weight in outer space it becomes weightless, because there is no gravity in space.
Regardless of if you're serious or not, all these post do is make you look a literal peasant.
Don't post about the world being flat then
-
Edited by Cheez_Lad: 4/25/2016 9:11:17 PMOk, I have a few honest questions, not trying to be super insulting, just wondering. 1: Are you joking? 2: What religion do you believe in/What type of atheist are you? 3: Why do you blame people for believing science, even though it is backed by facts? 4: Lastly, what makes you think the world is flat? There has been numerous proof that it's a ball ever since the ancient greeks.

4 RepliesGo to the edge of earth and take a picture. I will need to have the 6 points of identity involved. Seeing as I was just at the DMV I will help you out. 3 points: birth certificate 2 points: drivers licences, passport 1 point: social security, bank cards and mail. You will need to be at the very edge of the world or I will not believe you. I have a list of things needed in the picture. A. You at the edge B. 6 points of Identification C. John Stamos eating a dannon yogurt. D. Neil Degrasse Tyson with a thumbs up. F. B.O.B dropping a mic over the edge.
and when all is done, jump of the edge, please.
When all pieces of evidence are shown to me, then I will believe the flat earth theory. Until then the earth is round, rotates around the sun, and you are an idiot.

2 RepliesI vote we send this guy to space. It would accomplish two things: 1.) He could see that Earth is actually a sphere. 2.) We wouldn't have to deal with this guy anymore. Anyone for, say "I"
-
So you're telling me the circumference of Kim kardasians ta tas, are 2b-420 the size of the earth meaning the earth is actually spherical like the Xbox 720 thus proving the traveler is flat?

2 RepliesJet fuel can't melt steel beams. 9/11 was an inside job.

Some one on the Internet just compared science to immortal space hitler. Time to check that one off the bucket list.

1 ReplyU need to take less drugs weirdo. You sound like a psycho
-
Oh geez this guy again...
-
3 RepliesWait... what? Did he just put gravity in quotes?
-
5 RepliesWow.... The only way you could justify yourself if is you had proof to contradict scientific theories... But you don't

This is cute
