One issue, Tarlowe was a little bitch and got smothered by thrall, not killed by Alak-Hul. Other than that, carry on.

I'm just going off the dialogue given in game, which states he "underestimated" the thrall, and they "smothered his light". In that, it says nothing about Verok or Alak-Hul's involvement other than it possibly being thrall under their command.

Well smother doesn't necessarily mean to kill. It could mean kill, but it could just mean to entirely cover someone, so even if you're only going by game dialogue (which I don't think you should), it's still ambiguous. You are right though, the thrall might have killed him under the command of Alak-Hul and/or Verok.
