EVERVERSE BLOWBACK : FULL TAKEN GEAR = HELPING or NOT HELPING
Gonna make this short.
Microtransactions and DLC have been the biggest hatred of Gamers since the dawn of "robbing gamers of their money by under-handed tactics" was invented.
Every few months, Bungie and Activision push closer and closer to Pay To Win, or Pay To Advantage. And every few months, the hatred for Eververse Purchasers continue to rise.
A lot of people think they are cool, and supportive because they spent 20 to 50 dollars on Sterling Treasure to get Full Taken and/or Full Spektar.
But in reality, both on the forums, and in-game, they are getting murdered socially for helping in the greed and brutality of Bungie and Activision making the game come ever more near to hand-over-fork microtransactions.
What are your thoughts, forum?

1 ReplyDo people really still believe that the micro transactions are bringing free content? The "content" is just a platform to boost silver sales. Bungo keeps getting closer and closer to pay2win. It sure as hell isn't just cosmetic anymore.

Where's the neither option? It doesn't affect the game in any shape or form, it's people paying for stuff we get eventually with no added perks. IDC if people pay I think my character looks cool without most of that gear, taken armour looks full retard on a Titan who I main

10 RepliesI debated posting but here goes. This topic has been discussed so many times already. Bungie has carefully avoided pay to win, and they were very up front about the switch from paid DLC to micro transactions for TTK and the approach they would take. The complaints about being able to buy the boxes to acquire cosmetic loot faster are baseless. They are RNG and you still have to infuse them with Stuff You Earned Already (tm) to raise their light level. There is no advantage. Random drops of the cosmetic items from the weekly gift means that over time you can RNG everything by putting down the Doritos long enough to get to the postmaster once a week. It isn't like people are paying for a "Icebreaker Gjallar Thorn Oclast" and double armor that insta-kills when you are within 100 feet and behind walls. How does this hurt the game? It doesn't. We haven't paid for multiple events and content this year and Bungie employees keep getting paid. In case you missed it, this is good. I personally am not buying them at this point, but I am happy others are. I'm a cheap masochist so I will queue up for the weekly handout and hope RNGesus hears and blesses. I bought the collectors edition, so why aren't people complaining about that exclusive gear that cost real money? Buy or don't. Just stop telling everyone else what to do and let it go. If you can't let it go, think about the alternatives. Online services and support cost money. - paid DLC (been there) - massive in game / app / website advertising (McDonalds armor or Coke Classic guns anyone?) - subscription - season pass Which would you prefer instead?

If someone decides they want to look cool and not wait on rng, I don't care it'd their money. Money that goes to bungie to potentially make the game better.

I just hope Bungie runs out of emote ideas soon. My wallet has been beaten, -blam!-, pillaged, massacred, dominated, taken, etc.

I don't care either way. They can sell obnoxious glowing flame decals that everyone wears for all I care. Doesn't change my game any.

Edit: For a more accurate estimate of how silver is affecting the game, maybe a poll should go up about how much silver has actually been purchased. Then we can have actual numbers to debate about, instead of wildcard guesses and ballparks.

2 RepliesIt's not Bungie being greedy. It's us paying for free updates. The April update is an update we paid for through micro transactions. It's not a hidden part of the Taken King dlc. It's helping the game, it isn't pay to win or paying for nothing. We're slowly helping buy paying for silver. It's not a huge sin for games.

Here's the only thing that I think they could have done better. The way COD has their micro transactions set up is by you can either play the game and get this sweet loot at a mediocre rate. OR you could spend 5 dollars and get 2 packages of instant gratification. The emote packages drop very seldomly in the Nightfall that I have only gotten 3 packages since the fall 2015 emote mystery bag became a thing. If they dropped in other endgame content like the end of a raid or at a flawless Trials run at the same rates the nightfall would I would be a lot happier. Not to the point where they just give them to you but at least a better chance at them a week

At the end of the day, Their goal is to make money, and I'm cool with that, however, the system they have in place is built upon greed and designed to milk people of their money. They could've made it so Infusing the gear will adopt the gear being infused stats but no, this method makes to much sense. Even if a player is willing to use money, chances are they still won't get the right gear piece with the desired rolls. I understand why they're selling sterling treasure but I don't agree with it nor will I support it and you shouldn't either.

10 RepliesI'm cool with emotes and chroma. I was also cool with the srl sparrow log book and the armour you earned there. But I'm not cool with the taken armour being sold. Selling that taken armour should not have been the way to go. It should have been in game armour that you earn from accomplishing something great. Maybe instead of max light hallowed armour from kf hard challenge mode it should of been the taken armour. That way when you see someone wearing a full set of it, it's because they beat all of the hard challenges. Not splashed out money. Kinda like seeing someone with chatterwhite or a full set of trials gear for the first time. Buying armour has just made armour a whole lot less special from when you actually earn it..

I don't get why people are hating on people who spend their money on the sterling treasure. It gives you cosmetic gear that drops at 3 light. It doesn't provide an advantage and I argue that since they still have to grind for better gear it's not breaking the game or giving them an advantage. Let them waste their money to look cool. People need to stop whining because they are jealous and want to look cool.

Who cares? Bungie needs the money I guess. Plus, all the Faction/Other gear looks better anyway. Who cares that you can buy an armor set? lol Youre not going to look as cool as someone who obtained something through playing the game for it.

3 RepliesI find it funny how many hate messages I got when I got the taken ship. Many of them said how I am stupid with money and how I should not have spent it on this game. I haven't spent anything on this sterling treasure stuff cause I get three of them for free each week.

I love how when people see you in Spektar or Taken gear they automatically assume we must've bought it. I have most of the spektar set for my Titan, and the desolate arms. Haven't paid a penny for it. Idk what the big deal is. Is just cosmetics. If they do something to actually enhance someone's gameplay by making them stronger, or get better gear than other players. Than sure.
