I know, but what about the emotes? What if I want a new dance move or something? I only get the preloaded one, I have to pay 5 bucks for another one

You can earn them from Nightfalls as well.

You can??? I've soloed 2 of them and the best thing I got was 19 strange coins [spoiler]not a horrible reward it's just... I wanted other stuff[/spoiler]

Soloing will never change your rewards. But yes, emote packages can drop from Nightfalls. At least they did before the April update. I can't confirm they still do, but I don't see why they wouldn't.
