You have nine balls all exactly the same except one of the nine is slightly heavier. The only thing you have is a balancing scale and you can only use it twice.
How do you find the slightly heavier ball?

What are you talking about no Bungie employee knows how to balance anything.

Wow, I laughed way too hard.
-
You say screw the scale and use your hands to feel the difference in weight. Problem solved.
-
Your hands are not sensitive enough. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/201233577/0/0/1

That wasn't specified in the original post. My conclusion still stands.
-
It's common sense. He said the one ball is slightly heavier.
-
..ok? The word 'slightly' doesn't automatically define it as undetectable. Common sense stands to reason that my conclusion is valid, as there aren't any specific limitations laid out against it.

Separate them into 3s. Measure 3 vs 3 while the other 3 sit out. If the measured balls are the same weight then the heavier ball must be in the left out group. Measure 1 and 1 of that group, if the weight is the same it must be the one you did not measure. If the initial measurement of the 3 vs 3 is not the same, do the same procedure with the heavier set of balls.

We have a winner!

I ask one of our Engineers. I hate brain teasers like this. Ask me a question about proper syntax or usage of the Oxford comma in effective prose.

I have a simpler riddle, though it's better if you ask it out loud. Tom's mom had three children. She named the first one April, she named the second one May, what did she name the third one?

Lol Tom duh

I really wish all responses to a comment were shown in notifications instead of just lumping them into a '2 replies' I mist have scrolled through this post for 45 minutes looking for your reply. Your correct, but ask some people that verbally. You'd be surprised how many get tripped up and say June.

Now you have me at the disadvantage ;-)

Cut open the scrotum

In that case I think there may be more of an issue than the weight :p
-
How do you suggest I go about it
