It genuinely makes me happy to see I'm not the only one who just plays it for fun. I've never been to the lighthouse, but I still play trials anyways, its a great game mode, its competitive, and the gold tier is usually worth it. Flawless would be nice, but I gave up letting it get to me long ago....

Do not give up. I advise you to wait till Sunday to attempt a flawless run. By that time, the tryhards won't be playing and you should have an easier time.

When I started out playi g Trials I was obsessed with going flawless, even after having been to the lighthouse once (luck, such luck). I have a lot more fun now that I see the lighthouse as an added bonus, rather than a necessity. You're right, it's a great game mode and the bounties really add to the reward for non-flawless players like us.
