I'd like to know what the community thinks supers should be used, and what their thoughts are on using supers in a 1v1(I'm looking at you FoP titans and I guess voidnuker warlocks as well)
EDIT:
I probably should have clarified that the 1v1 in question is not super vs super, but just a gunfight, it's nice to see guardians who question the situation. Thank you.
-
Depends on the situation. It's last round and one enemy left, why not if they don't have a self rez Guy rushes you and you fist of panic, huge waste Stop an enemy from getting heavy, worth it
-
In 6v6 it's a waste. In 3v3 it sets up your team to get a wipe. It leaves the other team at a disadvantage
-
Winning that 1v1 may open up a flank and lead to more kills. If you look at the situation too narrowly, you might be missing a lot of beneficial lines of possibilities.
-
I think that it's a huge waste and when I see someone do it, I think they must be lightweight retarded. BUT, I have done it plenty of times to keep a streak or just cause I was about to die to some asshole who just tbag'd me and I wasn't willing to die to that fvcker again. So I hate seeing it done but also do it occasionally myself, making this situation highly hypocritical and confusing.
-
Honestly, unless it's going to serve some greater purpose like denying the other team special ammo or helping take an objective/clutch a round of elimination it's a waste and bad form. It's actually somewhat annoying whenever I'm on voidwalker now (at least compared to other classes) because I've been so used to holding Nova Bomb until heavy comes in that now I find myself (across all classes) trying to remember to dump my super at least once before the 5 minute mark. It's just irritating with NB because with Heavy only coming in once a game (which don't get me wrong, I Love) people just don't clump up as much. But that's just getting adjusted to the new changes. I still refuse to pop my super on single guy (unless I'm already 15+ kills and no deaths) when I could save it for a critical moment and/or nail multiple people to spawn more orbs for the team. It amazes me how so many people *still* don't seem to understand how crucial it is and how much it can swing games to coordinate and chain supers together.
-
If it's a 1v1 on a 4-4 trials game sure go ahead and use your super to save the win.
-
I would keep it to counter another super or get a nice multikill or to secure the objective.
-
I use it to stop a roaming super or keep a kill streak alive(usually there are orbs around the map).
-
Depends on the situation. Sometimes you want/ need to finish a gunfight quick, because your Radar shows something red behind you. Sometimes its clever and sometimes its stupid.
-
Its a game. Play it how you want.
-
It all depends on what is going on. If you have a super and the match is 9900 to 9900 on clash, I'm using my super on one person. Same thing if I see radar movement and I'm on heavy ammo alone. Or if they're the last man standing round to win the match in trials and no one has a self res. You gotta be more specific.
-
Any time you're sitting with a super is fine your super isn't charging. Unless you're using Tlaloc, that should be minimized. So yes, supers 1v1 are fine. Of course, supers 1v6 are better. :)

Know when to use your super. If you want to press an advantage, clear a room or kill another super, pop it. But try not to save it up too much, your allies need orbs.
-
Take this tip from a top% player or not your call guardian: I use my super for these scenarios which has helped me reach top% 1). Use super when you can muster up 2+ kills: Why? More points higher k/d usually=wins 2). Use super to give you a streak or prolong your streak: Why? Cause you are in the zone and you are a force of nature right now you know you are hot keep the fire burning bright! 3). Use Super to get rid of it: Why? Frequency is a no brainer. The more you can use your ultimate attack usually=win 4). Use Super for a play: Why? Heavy ammo is spawning and you are super charged, if you make a play by stopping your foes from getting this precious commodity then odds are, and you guessed it=win Ps... Don't use your super when you have heavy ammo pls, heavy and super=two avenues of potential streaks, when you pop a super and you have heavy you cut down two potential kills streaks in half (potentially) If you keep these four key notions in your mind then you are doing your super right...

All the year one titans and warlock are probably confused AF right now???
-
If you are not using FoP to kill 1 guy who wasn't in his super, didn't have heavy or was nowhere near an objective you are doing it wrong
-
The only people that complain about "wasting supers" are the ones getting put down 1v1 by a super. 13 year old Desticles crying.
-
Honestly I do it just to be a dick, but then again I don't run quiver, so I've only got the one shot. Can usually bait a few of the people close into taking a look and getting caught themselves.
-
No Mercy. No matter what.
-
If you don't use it to challenge heavy, a control point or the spark, you're doing it wrong. Exceptions would only be situations in which it is absolutely necessary to get a single kill to not lose the game. Be it a 19.9k to 19.9k match in terms of points, or the spark runner who would win the game for the enemy, if he is allowed to dunk.

2 RepliesI can get at least 3 supers by not holding on to them. Some are going to be singles by proxy. I mean you can hold on to your super if you want the whole game to wait for a triple but I already have at least 3 and going for more.
-
I hate it,but whatevers needed to win I would do it if it's a 1v1 in trials and we need the win. So what's the difference
-
I always see a striker FoH the floor just to stay alive in that 1v1. They do manage to stay alive but usually end up dying after kneeling on the ground for 3 seconds. I do get amazed though that someone would use it like that.

10 RepliesEdited by SteelyFat Jimmy: 4/21/2016 7:56:06 PMEveryone that voted do whatever it takes to win are those that don't have the sack to fight me one on one. Then again...they already knew they would lose.

In trials sometimes I've been told by my superior teammates to use my fist of havoc as soon as possible even f ts just 1 kill to get orbs for the team.
