DeeJ, Cozmo - Does the voice of 95% of Destiny [forum] users matter?

I used to be a fan boy (I have 6 Destiny t-shirts - lol). Destiny was simply one of my favorite games. But Year 2 (and all the updates since) continue to make Destiny less and less fun. My friends all seem to share the same sentiment. I didn't know if we were in the minority or if I had a limited view of the actual community. So, I came to this forum and created a few polls. The results have confirmed what I thought. Results of the polls: Year 1 was more fun. (mainly due to weapons) The most telling one was "Were weapons more fun in Year 1 or Year 2?" At the time of writing this the results are: Year 1: 220 (94.83%) Year 2: 12 (5.17%) Those are staggering results. I see NuclearSpace796's poll producing similar results. I understand that this is ~200 people out of millions of users. But I can't imagine that even this relatively small sample size is that far off the mark. If the results had been even Year 1 - 60% vs Year 2 - 40%...I probably would've accepted it and given Bungie the benefit of the doubt. But almost 95%? Something is wrong. I know some things the community asks for contradict each other. I know not everything the community wants can be implemented. What I can't wrap my head around is why one of the top desires (if not THE top desire) of the community is so disregarded. Heck, it isn't even on Cozmo's long Community Wish List. How can that be? I know Bungie is in a tough spot trying to make so many people happy. But given this is a video game and it's purpose is entertainment - I don't know why Bungie insists on taking the game in a direction that users find less fun. Do I think Year 2 is more "balanced" than Year 1? In a way, yes. Do I think the game is more fun in Year 2 due to the "balance"? Most definitely not. To be fair, I do love the King's Fall raid. I liked etheric light but the infusion mechanic works too. There are things in Year 2 I like. But overall, I like the game far less now. In Year 1, even when I was "bored" I still loved destroying things on Patrol. Now, everything has been nerfed into oblivion and everything in the game is a pointless chore. No weapon or armor is worth trying to get or grinding to upgrade. And grinding isn't even fun because there aren't any weapons or armor that are exciting to use. I can only conclude, at this point, that either: 1) Decision-makers at Bungie have a vision in mind that is higher priority than the community. (And only if the vision and the community line up is the community "heard") 2) Decision-makers at Bungie are asking the wrong questions and misinterpreting the data they are examining. 3) The goal is money and that is what is driving these decisions. 4) All the people that yearn for Year 1 are a minority and my understanding of the situation is wrong. I'm sure money (#3) has some part in all this but I don't know how. Sure, there is the Eververse with microtransactions but Bungie is adamant that those purchases are cosmetic only. They don't want a Pay To Win strategy. OK...but if it isn't going to be PTW due to some philosophy and they continue to make the game less fun (by ignoring the majority of users)...I don't know how they plan to monetize their product. ? If I had to wager, I'd say it is #1 which leads to #2 being true as well. I think Bungie's goal is to create a type of game that game-developers are "proud" of and can be touted as some creative, unique, well-thought-out, industry-defining, finely-tuned "masterpiece". I'm a software developer myself. I know the type. I hope Destiny can become more fun again. New content doesn't matter to me if the game simply isn't fun. Year 2 might have attracted millions of new users but that doesn't mean the game is "better" or more fun to all the users. There is a huge disparity between Bungie's current plan and what the community actually wants. It is very difficult to believe Bungie when we're told that the community matters. I just don't understand how so many users could want this but it is ignored. EDIT: I understand that these "polls" are very limited. But if this forum is to be a way for the community to voice our desires then the poll indicates that 95% of the users on this forum are voicing the same request. If we can't rely on a legitimate response to something so many of us are asking for then there is no point to the Feedback part of the forum. I don't expect Bungie to reprioritize their to-do list because of some poll on their forum. I don't expect them to always agree with what the community wants. But in this case, the lack of response to something you can see repeated over and over and over again in the forum is not only frustrating but more disappointing.

Why do people continue to think they give a damn about making the customer happy. From day 1 theyve proven they dont give a shit about anything other than money. And thats the rub, these stupid people that call the shots at Bungie, have taken the lazy route for your money. The least amount of work, for the most money. Simple business strategy. It works, especially if you have a product that people crave (fps console game), and add a HEALTHY dose of addiction, and gambling. On the other hand, and the reason i call Bungie full on RETARDS, is that, i would have payed FAR more than i actually did, and i guarantee id still be playing, if theyd have simply worked hard, and created the actual game they lied to us about, and largely sold the game to us on those lies. Just make a good game, a true, good game. And watch the money roll in, and not just from idiots, and children. EVERYONE would be playing it. THEY DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY, THEY DONT CARE WHAT YOU FEEL, THEY DONT CARE WHAT YOU WANT, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT MAKING GREAT GAMES. THEY DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT INTRODUCING GAMBLING TO CHILDREN. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT STEALING YOUR PAID FOR CONTENT, THEY DONT CARE TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, THEY DONT CARE TO LIE TO YOU. You are nothing but a dollar sign to them, and your voice means nothing. The only way to communicate with them is by spending or not spending your money on their shitty products.
