Q: Prison of Elders no matchmaking? A: A good way to seek out personal relationships with others
“You have my personal assurances that the design teams know you want it. They’ve seen the conversation.” He went on to clarify that Bungie hoped the lack of matchmaking in modes such as the Prison of Elders would encourage players to seek out personal relationships with others, and take matchmaking “into their own hands.
Source from a year ago, almost: http://gamerant.com/destiny-prison-elders-matchmaking-wish-list/ Bungie has it right, I don't play games after a long day at work to shoot aliens in the face, I get on Destiny to "seek out personal relationships with others". Seriously pissed off half the content in the game is behind a "seek out personal relationships with others" wall. LFG, forums = exactly the same as MM. Random strangers will be random, no matter where you find them and many of us are not looking for additional relationships, just the "shooting aliens in the face"part is fine.

 • 80% of these problems would be solved if communication in game was opt out instead of opt in. This is the only opt in communication model I've seen in a shooter, and is also the most silent I've ever played.
