Ok, I was just thinking how cool it would be to have some occasional hazards to keep us on our toes during PvP. The intervals of any disruptions should be random for maximum effect. I got the idea from seeing the Hive ship on Rusted Lands, what if the Hive really came out of it and start f*ckin stuff up in the battlefield?? We could get points or ammo for killing the enemies. Another type of "danger" map would be easy to fall off, or be a big dark labyrinth kinda like oryx's, or have poison clouds or falling bombs from Skiffs you have to avoid, etc.
EMPHASIS ADDED: THESE SHOULD BE IN A NEW, SEPARATE PLAYLIST/MODE. I'm not into nasty surprises lol.
I would like to hear others' ideas though
Added:
-a volcano map where lava can hurt you
-having to fight on top of some big flying ships
-fog/limit visibility radius (no radar)
-flooding (like the fears embrace poison)
-more Vertigo type maps, with even more verticality and platforming
-an ever changing Vex machine map
-choke points or rooms where fire comes out like on some Cabal areas
-
Like warzone in halo 5
-
2 RepliesNo forget that, it's cool but I don't wanna die from flipping lava vertigo and falling off the map as a warlock are enough already
-
1 ReplyMake a separate game type. Leave normal crucible as it is
-
1 ReplyEdited by Entropy91: 4/13/2016 5:44:34 PMI'd rather see more map hazards than see PvE in Crucible. Like the Train of Death from Halo 2's Terminal.
-
1 ReplyEdited by zombdestroyer: 4/13/2016 1:12:16 PMUnless this is a separate game type, I wouldn't want this. Map fatalities are annoying anyway, especially in slower paced game modes. Not gonna lie, I had flashbacks when you brought up the fear's embrace poison lol.
-
It would make it interesting, but diminish the competitive aspect of the game.
-
Excellent idea

19 RepliesGas / water flooding the map slowly. Fog of war - you can't see further than a few meters Corrupted ghosts - players' ghosts explode 3s after their guardian's deaths. Lethal to teammates as well as enemies. Darkness strikes back - unkillable knight with a sword roams the map. Mutation - boss ogre roams the map. When you kill it, 2 smaller elite ogres form from its remains. If you kill them 4 normal ogres form. Kill them and they drop 1 heavy brick. Prison break - a reef ship drops down burning and from its remains rises a miniboss. They're weaker clones of PoE bosses or patrol bosses. Elemental succession - one element is active. elemental weapons / abilities of a different element do 1/3 dmg. Active element changes every XY seconds. Kinetic damage is reduced by 50%. Total dark - you only see as far as your ghost's light reaches I guess you can think of many more

2 RepliesEdited by TrulyDontCare: 4/12/2016 5:01:16 PMThe hive ship would make me laugh. I just imagine them in that ship going "hey, look at these idiots trying to kill each other. I bet I can hit that one." *pew pew*

1 ReplyOr they could just reuse PvE maps for pvp. As some already pointed out. Atheon's boss room including past/future areas CE lamp part - including some thrall spawns and the lamps / debuff. CE bridge part - only for rift // spark spawns on the bridge.
One special box spawns for your team when you ignite the rift, no special spawns otherwise to prevent this map being stale. Scout rifles would be awesome. Each class could play to their best - hunters going over the bridge invisible / titans using their bubbles with different buffs / warlocks bombing the other side etc. Would be much fun imo
VoG entrance
Control / zone control Maybe spawn a wave of elite enemies emerging from the vog entrance once the spire was formed. The last guardian alive gets +XYZ points (vex can see through invisibility) Every kill of npcs counts as a player-kill.
VoG templar room - all gametypes / all jumping platforms available And many more. I'd really like to see the CE bridge phase as a pvp map ;)

Edited by KannibalKlown: 4/13/2016 12:40:31 PMI'll be honest, I've had similar thoughts. Like in Fear's Embrace, you have the randomly triggering "fire blasters" around and an area that fills with toxic gas. Maybe make a PvP map with something similar. I imagine part of the issue could be lag / latency. Like the fire triggering for people at SLIGHTLY different times (0.5 seconds apart) based on lag and some people getting burned and others being fine. Stuff like that.

I just want more creative and interactive maps, like the flood map you said or on ships. Maps on destiny feel boring and 2D and are not creative or in iconic areas.
-
This would just be an annoyance and I would hate these maps honestly
-
I guess that would be pretty funny if a team was camping outside of a room hard scoping a lane and some thralls just came up and straight murdered them lol
-
At first sight I like the idea but please god, noooooo ... I so often find myself missing a jump in those maps such as Vertigo :D :D ... Some maps are hazardous enough for this clumsy guardian :D
-
2 RepliesDismantle mineeessss...yeeeeesssss?
-
Anything actually hazardous would get annoying pretty quickly. Moving bits like on some of the Mercury maps I'd be fine with
-
I like that idea but I think we need to have the bigger maps reincorporated.
-
1 ReplyWhat do you mean dangerous? Like hazards? Flaming rooms or something? Cuz you can fall off almost any of the maps in this game.
-
1 ReplyNo, we just need a mayhem match to start during the Oryx encounter every once in a while
-
6 RepliesHow about a vex structure that rearranges the layout at random times. You would have to pay attention when it changed to avoid getting crushed or sealed into a room with no exits.
-
1 ReplyI think destiny should have more vertical close combat maps with multi tiers/teleports with the ability to be pushed off by melee's etc
-
6 RepliesHow about a map inside a volcanl in venus where sometimes lava would flow trough it and everyone would have to seek high ground
-
3 RepliesMaps added: Asylum, Firebase Delphi, The Anomaly, The Burning Shrine, and The Cauldron Maps removed: Bastion, First Light, and Skyshock *fist pump* This was what the crucible needed. And people can't handle jumping to the island on Vertigo, so I fear that putting people on flying ships would just be a disaster.
-
Urzok the detestable spawns randomly and if you kill him he drops heavy ammo.
-
No I fall off the maps enough as it is. Stupid warlock jumps. And blink taking too long to cool down.
