I was reading through grimoire cards today and noticed some weird wording in the beginning of the "Ascendant Sword" grimoire:
"Eris, Eris, what a name, a name for discord, a name for far cold orbits where no living thing should dare to go. I like this name.
Let me give you a gift, Eris. Let me tell you about the power in the logic of the sword:"
Who do you think is talking to Eris in this grimoire? To me, it points to an outside source who did not know Eric previously.
I believe Toland and Eris were acquainted to one and other so that should rule him out.
Mara Sov? She doesn't know the inner working of hive logic and I believe they also knew eachother.
Is it confirmed who/what is on the other end of Eris's orb that speaks to her?
Looking back on this card I am wondering if this is further proof that Eris is working for Savathun. I tried searching some but did not find anything about this.
What are your thoughts?

Savathun imo
-
It was Toland
-
Toland?
-
It depicts sword logic so we know that whoever it is they are either toland or the hive. My guess is its toland the shattered, second guess is crota.

1 ReplyI don't know as long as she keeps her rock off my maps I'm good

I'm hoping that she is being manipulated by savathun. If bungie steps up they could make a great story, personally though I wouldn't expect her to reveal herself anytime soon. I'm expecting the cabal to get some more focus or even a new race introduced in destiny 2.

2 RepliesEris doesn't hear the wispers since oryx died. I think the orb was just for her to use as a one way to her the hive right. When oryx died the wispers died.

23 RepliesEdited by TrolleyProblem: 4/12/2016 5:11:47 AMFor those unaware, after the great disaster (a war on Luna in which we lost horribly to a shadow of crota); eris (bladedancer at the time) and eriana-3 (last of the praxic fire warlocks/sunsinger) decided to achieve vendetta for their fallen brothers and sisters via leading an excursion on the moon. For this, they inducted vel tarlowe (titan, brawn), Omar agah (gunslinger, scout), sai mota (bladedancer). And last but certainly not least; they required someone with extensive knowledge of their enemies. This would be the exiled Toland the shattered With their full fire team, they descended into the abyss. And as eris says "6 of us went down... Only 1 crawled out" Vel died to who we have now classified as alak-hul early on. Hungry for vengeance, and chasing a wizard which drained vel's ghost; eriana-3 and sai decided to separate from the others. And so, lost in the darkness and surrounded, sai cracked. She attempted to climb out. And took a long long fall Eriana-3 was tired. And above all angry (little tip: NEVER make a sunsinger angry). She fought on the hordes with pure bravery and gallantry. "In her final moments she was so holy and luminescent. And I wished to be so brave" Now Omar and eris were alone. Somewhere in calamity Toland lost himself rambling on about ir yut's song and its totality. Without realizing it, Omar was cornered by verok (might have been omnigul) and her brood. And eris was forced to watch him have the light torn from his very body. Alone, eris wept. She had no team. No ghost. She was a fading light in the long dark. Till Toland showed himself again. And so, he bequeathed her a parting gift. He explained to her many of his understandings (such as the ogres, ascendant blades, etc). Then he went off farther in that realm to find ir yut and learn her song. Never to be seen again
he died to ir yut. However not completely. He became metaphysical and went to the hive realm
And with that knowledge, eris survived the pits for god knows how long. And there you have it. Those were Toland's words

Edited by Trigger BladeX: 4/12/2016 3:14:29 PMWhere is it? Edit: Found it. That's probably Toland.

2 RepliesHow do you get this card? I saw it but the only thing I can think is do you have to kill Crota as the sword bearer?
-
It's almost definitely Toland. He's the narrator for a lot of the Hive-related cards, primarily the ones that deal with Crota and Oryx.
-
1 ReplyThe tone of that card is also reminiscent of the Taken enemy cards. Almost insinuates that the speaker(s) are the same/similar. I stumbled on to that a few months ago, I'm almost positive Eris isn't working for us
-
2 RepliesI think definitely Toland.
-
Mara knows about hive logic...
-
That sword is from crota raid, but yea read the grim cards. Lots of good lore about Destiny and the people involved in it.
