I am playing Destiny's PvP for about 30 days now (720 hours). Before i have played CoD for 10 years almost every day. I have put a lot of my time in researching lag/ latency lag and different internet connections.
At home, i have 4 different internet connections:
1. 150Mbit download, 30Mbit upload, CAT6 cable, speedtest Ping 11ms, 0 packet loss. (With this connection my average k/d is 0.4 and i am mostly just a practising target, where i see enemies much too late and my bullets not doing any damage. Unbelievable Latency Lag).
2. Wireless from the connection above 20Mbits Dwn, 10 Up, 100% reception. (with this connection sometimes i can play normally and get k/d's above 2)
3. Wireless from the same connection above, but with a Wi-Fi range extender on the first floor of my house. Wi-Fi reception about 70%. 10 Mbit Dwnl, 5 Mbit upl. (with this connection on some days good, on some days bad)
4. My neighbours Wi-Fi (different ISP) 9Mbit download, 3Mbit upload. (with this connection mostly i have k/d's above 2.

The most matches in Crimson Doubles i have played with a friend which i have refered-as-a-friend and he played Destiny's PvP for the first time. We have won like 60% of all matches and i had an average k/d of 1.4 with him. He has the same ISP like me.
I have also played Crimson Doubles with the other friends and mostly couldn't get a kill.

Yesterday, a friend which has an average k/d of 1.9 has been playing at my house. Not even one match he could get k/d above 0.5. My average k/d was 1.4. At his house i get k/d's above 3, regullary.

My son visited his nephew, which normally plays GTA and has played Destiny for 2 weeks. His skills are very low. They played Iron Banner this weekend. Their average k/d was above 2. My son said it was ridicolous. His nephew without skills, crouching and moving like an old woman got k/d's above 2.

This weekend i have played Trials with German friends. One has 1.5Mbit internet and the other has 5MBit internet. Their ELO is 1650 and 1800. On my best wired internet connection i couldn't get a kill and we lost every third match. Then i changed my internet to my neighbours internet. The first ticket we went flawless and i mostly had very high k/d's.

My conclusion is that Destiny's PvP/ Your Skills/ K/D depend on the combination of internet connections, who you are playing with or against.
The Latency Lag Decides your skills on Destiny's PvP. When you are on the good side of this lag, you notice nothing and it seems that you are simply better. These players can improve their skills, because the game lets them. The players on the other side of the connection don't make a chance, no matter how good they are. They simply see you too late on their screen.
I think that dedicated servers would solve 90% of these problems. Just make the game fair for everybody.
