Hello Gaming. Tomorrow Dark Souls 3 will be my first game of the series. I was wondering if anyone who's played the series before will be willing to give me playstyle tips as well as class setups.

1 ReplyDon't go for just 1 more hit when you think "I can squeeze one more hit out of this"
-
1 ReplyAssume everything wants to kill you. Smack every chest in case it's a mimic
-
Keep all boss souls and make there equipment/ Spells
-
It's gonna hurt. But keep going.

5 RepliesChoose knight and make a quality build. A quality build should have around 40/40 - Strenght/Dexterity points. With this build, you're able to use most weapons in the game.

Tip: find ps4 friends that can answer your questions or else be prepared to do a ton of searching and reading or learn by lots of trail and error. Those are your three choices, really, but making friends with people that are souls fans is probably the easiest. Hey, question - please help! Lol Has anyone found a good melee/magic build. I'd prefer claymore with shield and pyro, but I'm pretty open to other suggestions. In DS1 I had a great Claymore/shield/pyro build that worked great, but I'm not sure how it's going to work in DS3, being as I've only just gone a little ways into the game. In DS2 I had an awesome Dark Claymore/Hex hybrid build they worked amazingly well. In Bloodborne I narrowed it down to three fav builds - mainly Skill and BT, Strength and BT, or Str and Arcane builds. In DS3 so far I'm loving my knight with shield and Claymore quality type build that leans more toward strength, but yeah, I would love to add in some magic - whether it's faith, faith and int, sorcery, miracles, pyro, or whatever - but preferably pyro.

Pay close attention when you die to figure out what you've done wrong. Cheap deaths are quite un common in this series. It's normally you haven't looked around properly or made a bad decision during the fight. Also hit treasure chests before you open them. The chain can show if it's normal or a trap but just safer to hit them all.

Git gud

There is a breif second you are immune to damage when rolling.

Get familiar with attacks, enemies, and spells in the game. Don't get stressful, but try to survive as much as possible. If you don't have much health, a lot of souls, and don't have a way to heal yourself, it's best to head back to the nearest bonfire. NEVER get too cocky. Roll around tougher enemies. If you think you can't beat an enemy, come back later.

Learn from your mistakes, and you'll do fine. Explore as much of the map as possible, what's the worst that happens? You die? You will learn to shrug that off after a while.

Just play it, it's not super hard like everyone says. Play how you like, be a warrior, paladin, mage, whatever you feel like

Watch your surroundings, they seriously cranked up the number of ambushes, use ranged when unsure and it's viable, learn to differentiate between a chest and a mimic(watch the shape of the chain), remember to upgrade weapon, learn the ancient art of shadow hugging.

Choose the knight. I believe it's the best for defense
-
10 RepliesWhat's the best build to choose other than knight? I may end up choosing it either way, but would like another option Not big on using a lot of magic classes
-
Don't research about the game and just play it your first play through. Discover everything yourself and once you beat it you can look up the cool obscure things. It will have a lot of replay ability in NG+ or just restarting.

Dont get greedy

Edited by DopiestPayload: 4/12/2016 4:11:11 PMStart with a knight. Good for a quality build and you have a shield that blocks 100% physical. Knight let's you learn to be defensive and offensive in the safest way. Compared to some of the other starting classes. Don't get greedy and take your time. if you have a boss or enemy a sliver from dying and your not sure if you should go for the last hit, don't go for it. Back up, Regen your stamina and then go for the kill.

1 ReplyDON'T GET GREEDY WITH ATTACKING! Seriously I can't stress that enough. Most of the time it will get you killed. Playing it safe and taking your time is something a first time player should focus on. This isn't like traditional hack n slash games. You can have end game upgraded gear and get killed by an enemy in the beginning if you're not careful. Oh and EXPLORE!
