It changes from area to area. Sometimes you need more fire resistance, other times arcane. Just depending on what kind of attacks the boss uses. But for aesthetic pleasures, I have been wearing the lady hunter's outfit from the second area's boss fight in the DLC, can't remember her name at the moment

Doesn't matter too much. It's not like Dark Souls where you need to balance for equip weight, poise, etc

1 ReplyI've just used the armor set found in the sewers for the majority of the game with a Racen piece or the giant golden triangle helmet.

Bone ash set from the second boss in the central pthumerian labyrinth. Decent armor (not that it matters) and makes you look like a metal reaper.

As long as you can dodge you don't need good armor, I just wear what looks nice

Don't know. I stuck with the charred hunter set for the entire game.

Best armor is in a chalice dungeon, that will boost magic defence.

I just -blam!-ing use whatever looks good lol.

You can get armour mostly through insight shop or finding it scattered across the world or buying it from Bath messengers if you have the appropriate badge. If you want damage resistance, armour doesn't help too much. It's mainly for resisting elements. For example, poison and frenzy or taking less damage from certain types of attacks. E.g. Thrust, Blunt, Fire buffed, Lightning buffed, blood or Arcane attacks. If this doesn't make sense, go to fextralife Bloodborne. It should have a better explanation of the armour. Here's some sets for elemental resistance: Blood - Maria's set / Cainhurst Knight Arcane - White Church Hunter Poison - Black Church Hunter Thrust + Blunt - Cainhurst Knight Fire - Charred Hunter Lightning - Henryk's set Frenzy - Ashen Hunter

Meh just wear what looks good. The point is to not get hit anyway. Except for situations where you need a high poison/frenzy/arcane resist (which isn't that often) I wouldn't give armour much of a thought. At the moment I've got my dude dressed in Maria armour because I think it looks the best. Got bored of the Hallowed armour set.

Armors are very situational in this game. Use armor for the resistances that will help a lot in certain areas

What's your build? Armor is much less a defensive item and should be used more to further enhance your current build.

Buy any other set in either the normal shop or the insight shop. After that, it depends on what defenses you need for certain areas. There's no one set that's the absolute best.
