Should Destiny 2 carry over your characters

Depends. Every update and expansion they've released so far has made our progress useless so.....

It would be in Bungie's best interests to do so. It may be a way to keep part of the player base continuing forward with the franchise. There is too much broken right now for me to even bother with year 2 let alone care if characters transfer. I will play this version until the end because I already paid for it. Change must occur on a grand scale for me to purchase Destiny 2.

They should let you keep/transfer your vault :)

You will definitely be able to carry over your character. That's the whole point. It will be a continuation of "your story guardian." But there will probably be some plot device that makes you start from scratch level wise. They will probably do away with levels and just use light, or something. And gear will probably be in the vault, but only be useable in "Destiny 1 - gear enabled" crucible playlists or something lol.

Idk because what or how long would D2 be? If you already have 3 Fully Maxed Characters? I assume light lvl will go up to 390 and Lvl of 75/80. If it is indeed continuing on. If not and you start fresh.. With 3 new classes and 2 Subclasses the lvl and light lvl will probably stay at 40 and 335.

I'd like to keep my stats, but I would [b]LOVE[/b] to start from scratch with 3 new classes & 9 new subclasses. If it's still warlock/hunter/titan with 1 new subclass each, they'd better let me keep my D1 toons.

No. Instead carry over my accomplishments (enemies killed, patrols completed, VIP kills, etc) and let me re-level my characters. I bet that won't happen because of something like [i]"Destiny 2 is a fresh start Guardians, don't be afraid to leave behind the old and move forward..."[/i] or some BS.

Bungir has said everything you get in Destiny will carry over to D2.
