Wouldn't we want the mines to blow up so that they would kill the enemies?
On second thought, the whole 'Prison' concept isn't much of a prison but more of an enemy zoo/breeding ground for variks' pleasure.

4 RepliesThe prison of elders isn't a place intended to rehabilitate criminals like many of the ones we currently have. It's more of a gladiator arena for prisoners of war like the ancient Romans had. The mines target soldiers of light, so the other races in the prison aren't affected by them. The reef isn't necessarily our ally, so they don't give a shit who wins in the prison. We go in there to test our strength, & variks watches for amusement & to see how strong we are. That's why he gives the prisoners weapons in the arena.

Varriks is a sick mother-blam!-er, that's why. He imprisons the enemy, then has us kill them while he watches. He's worse than that dude from Saw.

2 RepliesWell the mines are infused with a powerful fallen darkness source and if said mine goes off all things without darkness in them will die. Aka the guardians.
