Auto rifles have been my favorite weapon since the beta and I have always preferred them. Lately I've taken a liking to the exotic hard light and I've noticed not many people use it or exotic auto rifles in general. Of course you see the legendary doctrine all over the place, it easily out shines most if not all auto rifles and I see it in almost every game of crucible. I don't have it sadly, but I die from it enough to know its lethal and fairly hard to beat in a gunfight Auto rifle vs auto rifle.
Now this is all just my opinion based on my average skills and limited play time so feel free to try and change it, but my question is why a legendary seems to outshine the exotics? Do you think exotic auto rifles should be a bit better or are they fine and I'm just crazy? Guns like the last word, mida, red death, old hawkmoon and thorn reek havoc in crucible. I don't see anyone reeking havoc with exotic auto rifles. Not anymore. Suros had its time of course long long ago..rip..in my vault.
Not saying exotic autos are bad, just a bit meh... Agree, disagree?
The hard light looks way to cool to be meh. Right?

With the new update, doctrine will get nerfed

2 RepliesI've actually performed quite well with hard light. It's still falling short of doctrine in PvP but against several others it does well for the play type.

9 RepliesExotics in general are pretty bad thrre are a select few that are good. Only year 1 being used is ice breaker and thats solely for the ammo regen. Last word and mida are beimg used because of all the weapon changes brought them on top. Red death and bad juju are ok but not better than most. Who even uses monta carlo as their main weapon? Don't see any super good advice and not many dragon breaths. Invective sometimes and hereafter sometimes but really. Its just mida and last word. Hawkmoon and thorn for those who don't have last word. All my opinion but seems about right.

5 RepliesEdited by Dexter307: 4/5/2016 3:28:53 PMNechrocasm: Magazine increased to 64 Hardlight: reduce base recoil and give it third eye as an intrinsic perk Monte Carlo: Significantly increased melee speed while equipped. Zhalo super cell: (Just needs to wait for medium fire rate autos to get a buff) Suros regime: Increased amount of ammo carried and increase base handling speed (from 30 to 60) while spinning up is selected. Increase magazine to 35 High fire rate autos: Slower reload speed Medium fire rate autos: 10% increase to base damage Low fire rate autos: 12% increase to base damage

1 ReplySuros, Monte carlo, and Zhalo supercell are ok. But Hard light on the other hand has the highest AA on autos, plus high stability and the gun still kicks.

Monte is the best out of all of them

2 RepliesEdited by TRDoug: 4/5/2016 11:31:58 PMI like my 310 Monte Carlo and Zalo Super cell

The suros regime is a shadow of its former self and has to few reserve rounds when using spin up. Spin up needs to activate sooner !!!!

3 RepliesHard light is decent with its negligible damage falloff. Its slightly-off recoil (and there shouldn't be recoil at all) is what keeps it from being a strong weapon.

1 ReplyThe exotic auto rifles were god tier for like 3 weeks after launch of vanilla. then they got nerfed into a singularity. and even though there are a couple good rifles here and there like the doctrine they never really recovered...
-
Monte Carlo is an ass kicker
-
Everything exotic is meh
-
Their OK, but a few aren't very good for PvP and stuff
-
3 RepliesThey are okay they just aren't really trials weapons. They perform well causally. I probably should take necrochasm out and see how it does. I didn't vote because I like docterine but if I vote I feel like it's going to get nerfed. So no vote for this post.

I would say they are pretty solid i win most duals. But never ever did i win straight up against a doctrine which is kinda funny (not complaining just observation)

1 ReplyI was thought I'd dust off my old Suros for some IB, and I DESTROYED. I got a ~6000 point match, the team had two control points for the majority of the game, and we still won because of superior gunfighting.

4 RepliesNo you'd be fine to say exotic autos are pretty bad. No other archetype of auto rifle is gonna beat a doctrine straight up unless they miss a lot of shots. That's just how it is. It needs to be fixed. I don't mind doctrine being really awesome up close but it's range makes any other auto rifle pointless to use.
