So, Basically, I've noticed that, while using some Fusion Rifles, They really aren't bad.
I simply think its a matter of Competition and misunderstanding of the weapon.
MANY people I know assume you wanna max out range.
What I noticed is you actually need massive Stability on them in order to keep the spread tight and on target.
And then there is the competition. Shitguns And Lane Rifles are so easy to use in Destiny while fusion rifles require more skill over all. The weapon inherently requires more situational awareness to time charges and thumb skill due to having to hold a target.
The weapon relies on good positioning to function truly effectively (arguably even more so than snipers).
So, with the easier to use shotguns and snipers, the Fusion Rifles feel "underpowered" becaue they simply don't have the ease of use of the former 2.

1 ReplyPlan c is good. Dont know if its a secret though

it's like any weapon or super. if you enjoy it you use it more and get better with it. i think they're cool but i'm not good with the timing so prefer other weapon types. i know i'm going to delete my hunter to start another warlock to get the warlock fusion susanoo. it is the best and i had one and dismantled it not realizing it was a one time earn.

Sure - you can do this: https://youtu.be/Z0T0XcWoCpE -okay, its no big deal but when I got this kill I laughed like a lunatic.

SSSSSHHHHHH
check my thesan
1 ReplyThey are hard to use indeed, but are very, very rewarding. Look at that. I won a rumble game mainly using my fusion. Had few triple kills and 5 killstreaks.
-
Maybe.....baby.

In casual 6v6 games they're not as bad as people think because in most encounters, your enemies aren't focusing 100% of their attention on you, so it's easy to surprise people or catch them off-guard. In 3v3 games, however (especially sweaty ones), they are completely underwhelming because your enemy is focusing all their attention on you, and they are already aware that you have a fusion rifle. Skilled players know that strafing, jumping, flying, sliding are all useful tactics for making a fusion rifle user miss their shot. In other words, fusions are decent in casual 6v6 games, but they're terrible in competitive pvp.

1 ReplyThesan is such a good fusion rifle, I've been using it on my Titan recently and it absolutely destroys people, I'm having a blast.
Get it, blast, fusion rifles Lolololololol
-
Very good! I use them all the time!
-
They're my go-to PvP special. However they are inconsistent due to lag, unforgiving of error, and have a small effective range window. They used to have a tighter bolt pattern, resulting in better range, but the biggest problem is the projectile travel time, which lag turns into a coin toss as to whether you'll hit your target or not.
-
Fusion Rifles take some skill and prediction. And if one bolt(and yes 1) misses, then you have to fire another shot. So that means you have to predict where ALL the shots land and hope that they all land. So that means skill, prediction, and luck.
that needs a nerf
-
17 RepliesThey are inconsistent due to hit detection so the amount of skill they require is equal to the amount of luck they require to do well with.
-
Well duh, of course they're good. That's why bungo needs to nerf them, so classes will be balanced
-
1 ReplyTelesto plan C and the IB ones susanoo Thesan are all viable options for fusion rifles I have been using them alot lately
my main Gt is av3ng3r_013
-
Panta rhei is good.
-
I've picked them up recently, aside from inconsistency (phantom bulleting if you can call it that) I think they're awesome.
-
I've been using ONLY a fusion rifle for my secondary. Forever. Year one was murmur. Year two is susanoo. And yeah, it works great in pvp. Susanoo is great in pve as well, due to the changing element option.
-
I got destroyed by the Thesan yesterday in iron Banner.
-
Just played some crucible with my long far gone (vanguard) with stability increase and Icarus (jump them with fusion rifle :)), got at least 11 kills with it in each of two games
-
In crucible, yes
-
I feel the same thing with side arms. They don't have epic range so you have to get fairly close. Then the recoil is hard to get. But once you get it they are beast
-
Sssshhhhh!!!!!!!

3 RepliesEdited by Fridén: 4/5/2016 4:45:01 PMIf you can find a legendary fusion rifle with good stability and rangefinder, their okay, but in consistent. Sussano is also really good if you have a warlock. People like plan c, I personally don't as the intrinsic perk usually screws me over and fires when I am trying to line up my shot, and doesn't work when I need it too. I would rather just use Thesan FR4.

Yes nerf fusion rifles

Same here
