Are Fusion Rifles Secretly Good?
So, Basically, I've noticed that, while using some Fusion Rifles, They really aren't bad.
I simply think its a matter of Competition and misunderstanding of the weapon.
MANY people I know assume you wanna max out range.
What I noticed is you actually need massive Stability on them in order to keep the spread tight and on target.
And then there is the competition. Shitguns And Lane Rifles are so easy to use in Destiny while fusion rifles require more skill over all. The weapon inherently requires more situational awareness to time charges and thumb skill due to having to hold a target.
The weapon relies on good positioning to function truly effectively (arguably even more so than snipers).
So, with the easier to use shotguns and snipers, the Fusion Rifles feel "underpowered" becaue they simply don't have the ease of use of the former 2.

I have been playing TTK for a few months now after not having played since the release and not having any prior knowledge of any Nerfs and/or buffs I jumped right back on my own fusion rifle band wagon and the exotics and some legendaries are amazing and very fun to use.

If you don't have a high stability fusion, aim for the man bolts or lady armour. You'll get body spray ending in a headshot.

2 RepliesPersonally I think you are way off track on shotguns and snipers. Both are excellent options for different play styles. Fusions are amazing and better than shotguns, imo. Aim at the feet. Instant death. I killed so many people from handcannon range and duck hunted many guardians in recent weeks.

I feel like fusion rifles are severely roll dependent. That's my opinion though, I could just suck with them and not even know because I rarely see anyone use them.

The only time I prefer shotguns in PvE is when either A) I'm against yellow-bars with easy to hit heads B) I have a nice full-auto shotgun, tether a heavy baddie, and just unload at point-blank. Beyond that, I prefer fusion rifles in Pve; and sometimes snipers. ----------------- As for PvP... forget about it. I only have luck when I'm in a hunter with the high-rez / marked radar and hiding behind a corner when the guy is about to come around. I don't like using shotguns, and honestly only use my "secondary" when there's a bounty involved.

My Thesan with range finder is basically a year 1 pre-nerf fusion rifle.

Recently about 90% of my kills in crucible(which still isn't that many because I suck at PvP) are with either NL Shadow 701X or Plan C. Personally I think fusion rifles are great weapons for both PvP and PvE if you can keep your aim steady and hit with at least half of the shots. In PvP, if you don't kill your target with the first charge and your target doesn't start shooting back until after you fire, you typically have enough time to switch weapons and finish them off.

I think it all depends on your connection. And others that you are playing with. Good connection, they are awesome. Not so good connection, not so good of a rifle.
