So, Basically, I've noticed that, while using some Fusion Rifles, They really aren't bad.
I simply think its a matter of Competition and misunderstanding of the weapon.
MANY people I know assume you wanna max out range.
What I noticed is you actually need massive Stability on them in order to keep the spread tight and on target.
And then there is the competition. Shitguns And Lane Rifles are so easy to use in Destiny while fusion rifles require more skill over all. The weapon inherently requires more situational awareness to time charges and thumb skill due to having to hold a target.
The weapon relies on good positioning to function truly effectively (arguably even more so than snipers).
So, with the easier to use shotguns and snipers, the Fusion Rifles feel "underpowered" becaue they simply don't have the ease of use of the former 2.

Nerf fusion rifles
DON'T TELL THEM, JACKARSE
Everything can be effective in the right hands within its intend combat range. But I will agree some guns currently are "overpowered" or simply other guns are "underpowered", depending on how you look at it.
-
Some are good, but most have too low stability to use well
-
I love the trials one, it's godly against my friends who don't happen to know how to counter fusion rifles.
-
1 ReplyJust got a max stability thesian, with rangefinder from the gunsmith.
-
We've looked at the stats and we've decided to nerf fusion rifles
-
Oh man I love been using my Thesan Fr4 and Ashravens flight all week
-
I would use fusion rifles, they are powerful, but I just can't get over the charge rate. I like fast RoF
-
4 RepliesMy guild mate gave me the best advice on fusion rifles...aim for their balls. By the time the kick's done, you'll be pointed at their head for the last shot. It's served me well. I also prefer fast charge times vs range. I don't mind getting in close, it's those long charge times on the test weapons that kill me.
-
9 RepliesA weapon isn't balanced if you need to get 3 stability perks to make it useful. You should never be forced to focus on maxing out one stat on a weapon to make it good. In the past Fusion rifles were actually good, but for some reason Bungie keeps nerfing them for no reason despite the fact that very few people use them in PvP and nobody is complaining about them (aside from the sarcastic "nerf fusion" posts).

SERVANT OF ASKOR IS OP

If you're good with them yes. You get potatoes STAMP OF SKILL
-
When they work they feel like monsters, I think the problem is their consistency. Sometimes it feels like you can kill at decent ranges with no problems and other times someone will be right in your face and the shot won't even take their shields down.
-
Shut up and stop asking questions
-
I just start playing Destiny last week and came to conclusion that fusion rifles are OP! Bungie please nerf them!
-
In the vanilla days when fusions were used in the crucible I had a blue one that was really good. It had very high impact.
-
Plan C
-
2 RepliesI have a darkblade's spite that I always assumed would be good in the crucible if I ever played pvp in this game. It has: red dot oas underdog braced frame rangefinder I know the charge rate is slow though.
-
My preference on secondary atm... considering I just hate sniper rifles... once you figure out the timing they're highly effective
-
SHUT UP it's a secret ! The devs already nerf fusion rifles with every patch , it'd be even worse if they knew how good they were .
-
1 ReplyYes. Nerf them again
-
Thanks. Now we can blame you for the incoming FR nerf. ~TheGreatAdidas

1 ReplyThe hitchhiker from dead orbit is a sleeping monster in the crucible. In one charge, it fires 7 bolts. Each bolt does 51 damage. If all 7 bolts land on your target, there will be nothing left of them. 51*7 = 357 damage in 1 charged burst :D
-
If you know how to use them they are amazing for close quarters zone defense
-
Are Fusion Rifles Secretly Good?
Well if people keep mentioning them then they won't be so how about you just not talk about it.
