So, Basically, I've noticed that, while using some Fusion Rifles, They really aren't bad.
I simply think its a matter of Competition and misunderstanding of the weapon.
MANY people I know assume you wanna max out range.
What I noticed is you actually need massive Stability on them in order to keep the spread tight and on target.
And then there is the competition. Shitguns And Lane Rifles are so easy to use in Destiny while fusion rifles require more skill over all. The weapon inherently requires more situational awareness to time charges and thumb skill due to having to hold a target.
The weapon relies on good positioning to function truly effectively (arguably even more so than snipers).
So, with the easier to use shotguns and snipers, the Fusion Rifles feel "underpowered" becaue they simply don't have the ease of use of the former 2.

They aren't bad. The only thing needed to out them in line with other special weapons is a little base stability buff to the low stability/high range fusion rifles. I shouldn't have to aim at player's feet to land shots at mid range...looking at you Ashraven's Flight...
-
Get a range boost perk. Aim for the crotch. You'll be surprised. Check my Ashravens Flight on my Titan. Love it.

I was trying to find a video that best demonstrates the issue with fusion rifles, but I could not find it. Basically, it shows slow motion footage of the dude firing fusion rifles at people in the crucible, and you can see the bolts from his gun hitting other players, like every single bolt of the burst, and the enemy only getting his shields down to half. This wouldn't happen all the time, but... So, they would be good, but are literally broken, I guess.
-
I recently started using them and as long as you know how you can be Damm deadly with them
-
In all seriousness, your point is pretty spot on, in crucible at least. In PVP they can definitely get some surprising kills, but in PVE they feel vastly underwhelming. They need a serious PVE buff in order to not just be a novelty weapon.

Fusion rifles are -blam!-ing op plz nerf bungo
-
I went into rumble today and half the people were using fusions. Who told them they are good? It was a secret dang it!

4 RepliesEdited by Wiley-92-: 4/6/2016 3:21:38 AMFusion rifles are underpowered because: A, you cannot kill someone through a res shield with one B, you cannot kill someone during their super with one C, it is dam near impossible to get multikills with them (without dying). You can kill 3 guys WAY faster and more safely with a sniper or shotty than with a fusion rifle. I realize that there may be a couple very situational exceptions, but realistically speaking - these are accurate. The timing skill required for using them - as they are right now - does not pay off. EDIT: nevermind, i guess people can do these things with the thesan fr4.

I agree completely man fusions r badass and for those saying they r trash and unusable here ya go.. https://youtu.be/-Jfo8rbmDSo https://youtu.be/lzvHl2jCzgg https://youtu.be/Gf1OsMr3ppM
-
I remember in year one you were a scrub if you used a fusion lololol
-
Your play style will make you like them or hate them. For me that 1/2 second lets me fine tune my aim and feel OP with them. Think I had a Long Far Gone equipped for a solid 2 months once.
-
The fast firing one from FWC is sooooo good
-
You need max stability on one, and on top of that max impact also helps. Try finding one of these and you're set!!
-
3 RepliesEdited by DollaDistrikt: 4/6/2016 1:28:16 AMPlan - C is a beast!! You have to go for the high impact fusion rifles and not those with high charge rates.
-
People want to use them like a shotgun, but a fusion rifle focuses entirely on how well you can stay on your target. More importantly, it challenges your ability to foresee the destination of the enemy when the gun is ready to fire. That's what people forget. They also aim for the head when it's better to aim for the body and lower areas.
-
Agreed. I have an elevated vision with pretty good stability. I think I'll have to give it another shot
-
Many shotgunners I fought in the crucible have fallen before my fusion rifles. So yeah.
-
4 RepliesThey are good. But you have to plan ahead, and you have to hit your target with all the "pellets" to have success. Thesan and Ashraven's Flight are really good, as is Plan C. I never had much luck with Panta Rhei. There was a Y1 FWC fusion that was great ... frenzy? Something like that.
-
They're just very inconsistent, and I wish they werent. There have been so many scenarios where I've killed someone, used the exact same method in the exact same range and have the bolts only take down someone's shield. No, lag isn't affecting this. You all know; it's happened to everyone. If it wasn't for this inconsistency, i think they'd be very balanced and competitive to shotguns and snipers.
-
No they're not

I like them in pve. Not so much in pvp
-
They're not shit. They're just not as good as the Lane Rifles and Slideguns.
