Kabr speaks the truth. It they were concerned elemental primaries were providing a disincentive to use other weapons in the game, the answer was to give us a way to infuse ANY weapon with elemental primaries, not to remove them from the game. Y1 perks were awesome and so much better than Y2 perks because they were general perks and usually active almost all the time, and you could tell when bonus damage, etc. kicked in. Y2 Perks? They're so highly situational, they barely trigger, and when they do you don't notice the difference for the most part. It's like Bungie lost their balls and suddenly became afraid of making great weapons. It's not that the Y2 perks are so terrible in THEORY, but in practice they simply aren't strong enough to warrant taking them over something more useful. For example, why would you want Surrounded (bonus damage when 3 or more are close to you) when you could have LITC or Final Round? Those two perks will trigger FAR more often and don't require you to get yourself in a bad situation (where you are outnumbered in close quarters) to trigger it. And when Surrounded DOES trigger, the damage bonus isn't so great that it would help you get out of that situation, whether its PVP OR PVE. And don't even get me started on perks like Eye of the Storm (more accuracy when your almost dead? Are you kidding me?) and Exhumed (I'm going to assume this perk is just a troll). It is no wonder people still long for their Y1 guns. I'm still waiting for an explanation as to why we needed CRAPPIER guns to make this game "more fun" (its not) than it was in Y1. Our gear needs to get BETTER as the game progresses in order to naturally make our old gear obsolete. This is not what happened between Y1 and Y2. They made Y1 gear obsolete with the light level, NOT because Y2 stuff is inherently better. When you ignore light level completely, Y1 guns are MUCH more likely to have better perks and performance overall than Y2 guns. And this is why there is such outcry for the return of Y1 gear. Y2 gear is just aweful in comparison outside of light level.

Y1 gear was good, Y2 gear was bad. They should've started with the Y2 gear & perks and released the Y1 gear & perks gradually in the expansions. That way you would actually feel like you're getting better gear the longer you played. But nope, they went backwards, from good gear to crap gear.

  • That's why this person wasn't going to have any of TTK. There was no way I was going to regrind all kinds of content only to be rewarded with significantly inferior guns to what I already owned.

  • Changing or adding elemental properties to legendary weapons has always been something I was in favor of. It would give the player that much more satisfaction when they finally got that great roll from the Gunsmith, a drop, a rank up in faction weapon that they really really liked. Good weapons are so incredibly hard to come by in this game, that that would really provide a way for us to make any weapon better. Even if it was a one time only deal where you locked in the element and destroyed its ability to ever be changed again. Still awesome.

There is absolutely no scout rifle that can touch the Vision. In general the VOG's weapon catalog has not been able to be beat, even the crota weapons were slightly weaker but still viable for most activities. King's fall weapons feel so useless and are just there for infusion..and it's a shame too because KF is a great raid, just not worth running anymore due to how stale the drops got. God have they screwed up big time, I really wonder how they're going to try to bounce back from this.

  • DIS-43 says otherwise.

I personally love the DIS-47. I had a wonderful one with Third Eye and increased stability that I used in Trials, but made the mistake of infusing it into my Y2 MIDA. Don't get me wrong, though. I love the ever-living heck out of my MIDA, and I'll never regret infusing it with my 316 Dctrine of Passing (Adept) that had Rodeo (I think?) and some other good perk. (I was never a fan of auto rifles, anyway, and after seeing how easy it was to hose down other Guardians with it, I felt dirty. Kind of like I did when I tried using Thorn for the first time.)

  • Vision vs. Fang boils down to taste IMO. I'm not a HUGE fan of full auto on a scout rifle, and I LOVE 3rd eye, so for me, with no burns activated, I tended to lean towards Fang. HCR is also very nice as well, especially in PVP play.

  • Personal preferences, of course. I still loved Fang and most of the crota weapons, with the exception of the fusion rifle lol. Right now for me, the Jade rabbit has been nice to me in PVP.

  • Many in my group STILL use Fang, especially in crucible play. It's a fantastic scout rifle if your a lover of 3rd eye, which many in my group swear by. It may just be my influence on them, but 3rd eye is almost a must on every primary I use, especially in PVP.
