If you were lurking around the Reach Forum recently, you might have seen [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=40432478]this thread[/url] about an adorable character called Oonsk, created from cropping Kat's shoulder armor piece into the figure of a little guy.
More suprising however, Shishka was able to put a picture of Oonsk in his post using [img] tags. Although when he did the picture appeared in all of it's beauty, anyone who quoted him had the image in the post replaced with a "[Image Removed]".
I just have a few questions:
1) How long have you been able to do this?
2) Is it possible that group administrators could be given this power in a website update?
Obviously there would be some problems with such a feature, as people would be able to post pr0n into their group threads, but is that really any different that posting URLs to pr0n?
We were having a discussion about this in that particular thread, but its better suited for this forum so I decided to start it up here.
Your thoughts, B.net?
Update: Yeah. After nearly a year I don't really like this idea anymore, particularly after my group got spammed with naked pictures of Old Men. We do just fine without images cluttering up our forums.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] philace117 There's an [img] tag, but apparently only certain employees are allowed to use it.I remember Frankie posting a picture in the forums a long time ago. [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=10556450&postRepeater1-p=2] Here's a picture Frankie posted back in '07.[/url] I think it would be nice if Group Admins could post pictures. That would suck if a group conqueror got admin powers and started posting pr0n everywhere.[/quote]Anyone with the ability to post news stories can post pictures to a group, at least in the first post of a thread.

Allowing users to post pics on this cite would be a terrible idea. People are way to damn immature.
-
Yeah, you can't do it anymore in private group news sections...
-
I didn't even no you could do that. [MGP] [Edited on 11.06.2010 7:01 PM PDT]

It seems like I kill every thread.
-
I can do it using HTML exploit, however they patched it not too long ago.

Oh my God. I thought this died a long time ago. Still extremely funny to look back on!

The mods are HAX0RING! HAXXXXX!!!11ELEVEN11!!!

Haha... Darn. Oh well.

Nope. Achronos hates them.

Just to get things straight... Will there never be emoticons on bungie.net? I've always wished that there would be some sort of emoticon on here with a top hat.
-
my only question is how he got 3 ninja's to post on the front page.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] Gazas Wasn't there a moment in the forums where people posted [img] images? I missed them but I think they were some stuff that would only be appropriate in...adult sites. You guys have probably talked about it in the pages I didn't read.[/quote] I remember... some were blue waffles... it was a ton of code... like HREF10000000000000 stuff like that...

I saw someone post a picture in a thread of a model on the beach and said "Hot Girl Agrees" right above it. I don't know if he is a HAXORZ or what, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't a Mod or Bungie member.

I would love an img funtion but the ninjas would die from all the bans they would need to dish.

I could be wrong.[/quote]You are MOSTLY right. It's certain designated users with admin rights only -- basically Bungie's "community-oriented" employees only. Moderators can't do it. [quote][b]Posted by:[/b] borrowedchief Ahhh -blam!-, now you did it URK. All the emoticon lovers have proof the feature is there. [/quote] Wait when did you become a mod? Wow I have been out for a while. [Edited on 07.18.2010 12:31 AM PDT]

This thread is awesome. I want more smileys urk. I have one complaint though. I will bet that if a new member came and made this thread with the exact same opening post, this would have been flooded within ten replies. Hylebos could make a thread about how awesome Jun is with the sniper rifle and it would get 100+ replies. -Fear [Edited on 07.17.2010 5:15 PM PDT]

We got another one. And this one is [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=46021388&postRepeater1-p=1]cute and cuddly![/url]

I bet Admins can get past the profanity filter too.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] Cra5y Pineapple It's true only some staff can use it but I think that's a bit stupid. Many offical forums have the ability to embed pictures (ex. Bioware forums) and nobody posts pr0nz there. Why don't the Bungie forums allow it?[/quote] Well, I don't no whether you had noticed the bluewaffle and other pictures but it wasn't a pretty site. I am glad they are blocked as a few people on this site are about as mature as this pen I am currently holding.
