If you were lurking around the Reach Forum recently, you might have seen [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=40432478]this thread[/url] about an adorable character called Oonsk, created from cropping Kat's shoulder armor piece into the figure of a little guy.
More suprising however, Shishka was able to put a picture of Oonsk in his post using [img] tags. Although when he did the picture appeared in all of it's beauty, anyone who quoted him had the image in the post replaced with a "[Image Removed]".
I just have a few questions:
1) How long have you been able to do this?
2) Is it possible that group administrators could be given this power in a website update?
Obviously there would be some problems with such a feature, as people would be able to post pr0n into their group threads, but is that really any different that posting URLs to pr0n?
We were having a discussion about this in that particular thread, but its better suited for this forum so I decided to start it up here.
Your thoughts, B.net?
Update: Yeah. After nearly a year I don't really like this idea anymore, particularly after my group got spammed with naked pictures of Old Men. We do just fine without images cluttering up our forums.

[quote][b]Posted by:[/b] Mike Froese It's different than posting links to -blam!-. An image in the post will be seen a link won't necessarily get clicked. Plus lots of people check the links they click on beforehand (I do 4 times out of 5). [/quote] This. After my first clicking of a less than tasteful link, I always check before I click. And even then, I sometimes do not check.

Unfortunately, someone went around posting shock pictures which lead to a fix and it doesn't work anymore.

Achronos got peeved...
-
I remember finding a bug back in 04 that enabled anyone to post Images in the forums. I used it in my group for a while, which was an awesome selling point and got it popular, then others figured it out so I messaged Achronos about it and it eventually got fixed. It's always been an option though, just one limited by access.

Only Bungie employees can post images. I've seen urk posting images twice, and so did stosh if I recall correctly.

hihi would we at least get smiley's? ofc with a cap. but still

So, are we getting image posting capabilities? Or maybe a trust system? Heroic members + (or higher).
-
I honesty don't know.... I guess if we quote an employee who posts a picture, it automatically removes the image, and shows up as '[Image Removed]' in our post.
-
I don't know man... I sure as hell don't trust Foman![quote][b]Posted by:[/b] carby21 So our friendly ninjas are lying to us now? I don't think so.[/quote]
