1st off all dont compare destiny gamers to world of warcraft gamers...the difference is that WoW players have no life and put a LOT of effort in playing the game and getting the best gear.....destiny players are people who go to work ,hang out with friends, or go to school.....they have something called a LIFE! so that whole comparing thing you got going on? Flush it already! (Not to be a dick or something buddy this is also my own opinion) Also ik can understand bungie all they're doing is LISTEN to their gamers....now how many companies do you know that actually read whats going on in gaming community's? Its all about money dont get me wrong but at LEAST bungie provides a good service:"we're listning to you" just like they did in Halo....again not being a dick, but quit beeing a pussy! There's worse thing to think about then who gets what in a computergame.....

  • Oh and a side note, you shouldn't speak for the entire player base of destiny, or of WoW. Both games have those who no life it like crazy, and play seemingly 24/7, but both also have those players who both have great gear and go to work, have a social life, and enjoy doing things other than playing the game.

  • Listen friend, first things first. I've posted things similar to this before and gotten little to no attention so I honestly assumed I wouldn't here either. When I compared the two games, I didn't mean to outrage anyone, nor did I mean to offend anyone. While it's true, there are a ton of players that no life WoW like crazy, and you can tell based on their achievements, feats of strengths, mounts, etc. However, there are also a whole lot of players who have both a life, and play WoW, while still maintaining really nice gear. I was one of them, at the time Warlords of draenor was released, I was one of those players. Before I quit playing, I had some really good gear, maybe one piece that was top tier even. I maintained that, my job at which I worked 35-40 hours a week, and my fairly active social life. I know there are many players who do this. I wasn't taking shots at the entirety of people that play destiny, only those who constantly whine I want everything to be easy. I agree with you, Bungie is one of the few companies that listens to their fans. However that being said, I believe that a company should maintain a level of control in the situation. Bungie usually really listens to fans concerns and desires, and adjusts the game accordingly. While this is unarguably a great thing, they also give into demands that seem unreasonable to a large portion of their fan base. It seems, to me anyways, that if a small group wants something in destiny, and they complain and whine long enough, they will undoubtedly get their way eventually, even if a larger faction of players disagree. Bungie tries to keep everyone happy. While that's admirable, and definitely a respectable way to operate, it just doesn't work. There are those who abuse that aspect of Bungie. I agree you shouldn't have to no life the game to get top twit gear. Though I strongly believe the game should require much more skill to get the best gear. I apologize in advance, but here comes another WoW comparison. The mechanics in most WoW raids are really difficult to those who don't know them, and impossible without a certain strategy and flawless teamwork. In destiny, the mechanics are incredibly simple. I know hard mode can be difficult, but there always seems to be a certain weapon that is almost required to do it. This just lacks appeal for me. I know not everyone feels this way, but I like personalization. I like putting hard work into my character, to be one of a kind, at least to some extent. This is entirely possible in WoW, but in destiny if you don't have the same thing (like gally or malice for examples) as everyone else you can't even get into most groups because everyone wants it to be the fastest they can. Again, I didn't take shots at the entirety of destiny players. I've been in some really cool groups, with great people not worried or raging about wiping at all, and had a lot of fun. I just like the concept of amount of hard work = value of reward, which WoW has. There are exceptions to this of course, I've met a ton of elitist pricks on WoW too, only concerned with how fast they could clear dungeons/raids. I've also met people on WoW that want things the easy way, so they'll host big parties until a piece of crazy gear drops, then instead of fulfilling their promise to have everyone including themselves roll for it, they ninja loot it and leave. All online games have these types of people, I completely understand this. My biggest issue with destiny is the limited content, and from my own personal experience I'd say around 45-50% are only interested in instant gratification. Not to offend anyone, but I noticed more of the year two players exhibited these attitudes, plenty of year ones too though. I truly meant to offend no one, as I didn't call out any specific player or group. If anyone took offense to what I said about players wanting everything right away and for it to be easy, while it wasn't my intention to offend anyone in particular, I also won't apologize for it. Many players have that mentality, and it just annoys me I guess because I was a dedicated player, who worked hard and faced the dreaded RNG to get the year one items I had. Then Bungie makes most year one weapons almost completely worthless, nerfs a ton of weapons in crucible because people got killed by it one to many times and complained. Thorn is an exception, while I had a ton of fun with mine, it's nerf was warranted in my opinion. I tried to acclimate to all the changes Bungie was making, but after awhile I just got tired of seeing drop rates for the few really rare things I had get constantly increased because a bunch of people really wanted them and complained it didn't drop frequently enough. Like, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the point of something being called rare, was that it dropped infrequently and you had a low chance of getting it. Anyways, I'm sorry for such a long reply, am just trying to convey to you what I should've worded much better the first time, I made a mistake, and I take responsibility for it, I did word my original post a bit harshly, and I sincerely apologize for that.
