As soon as I joined the party, all I heard was cursing and arguing, even calling each other n***ers even though they sounded painfully Caucasian. I didn't want to be that guy, so I said I'd stay if everyone would stop screaming. They agreed.
And it lasted 15 seconds.
They kept on yelling, but I still tried to be a good sport, and we even got close to beating oryx. But in the end it was too much and I needed to leave.
Then I posted on #Recruitment looking for adult players, and we got it done in a couple of tries with no animosity. And we had a good time.
There's no point to this post, I just wanted to share what I went through, today. :/
Edit: Whoa, that's a lot of replies.
I just want to say that, despite my bad experience, I am aware of the young but mature players. They too are individuals trying to finish the games' biggest challenges, and they shouldn't be turned away if they're all for teamwork and good-natured communication. I have no problem playing with those kind of kids.
To those overreacting about my use of "Caucasian"...for shame.
Edited by Jerilla13: 4/1/2016 4:25:27 PMBeen there done that. I also try to give them a chance, but it seems that 8/10 hit the stereotype dead on and in 5 minutes I want to stab myself in the retina with an ice pick. I have 2 teenage kids myself and tend to be pretty patient so I am surprised at how annoying some "squeakers" can be. Did have a young kid in a raid last night who was also pretty low light for a hard raid but he did better than most of the rest of the team and only said about 10 words the whole raid. There was a little jubilation when Oryx went down but nothing excessive or over the top.
