Hey, so in Sanctuary, I currently have 412 defense. Is that too much? I only do that because I'm producing 300+ purified water...

I go for coverage and kill speed over defense value, smaller the base the lower the number of weapons, however I do have a few that a over the top such as my pyramid, lol I have a vid of that with one raider I just feel sorry for

Double it. For security

Have you ever encountered a Godzilla sized Deathclaw, you gotta be prepared for that! Lol
-
2 RepliesYou never have too much. My main settlement reached max defense.

I have about 500 something I think. You can never have too many weapons. It got attacked by two deathclaws at once one time, and they lived for about 2 seconds.
-
Too much defense is no such thing.
-
Supermutants couldn't even penetrate my fortress last time, I wish the attacks were a little more intense :0
-
Can never have too much defense lmao

Also, I have like 700 defense in my castle with fixed walls and one entrance, did the institute invasion thing and the institute got rekt.

Add soo much that no bloatfly will come bear your base!

More is better.

2 RepliesWhat I find strange is that I have 300 defense at The Castle compared to 10 defense at Tenpines Bluff, but the Castle gets attacked A LOT more than the latter. But I'm not complaining because it's fun to watch my army of minutemen engage in an epic battle against the attackers.

MORE POWAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yeah, I had more than that when I was living in sanctuary. Then I realised that having that much defence, water, food etc was mostly pointless, because I hardly ever got attacked, the happiness stayed the same and it was too much work assigning my 40 something people to their roles. I moved to spectacle island, where I made less unnecessary power and defence and focuses more on building a huge pier out of concrete. Then the game bugged and my generators didn't feed power to my water purifiers. I couldn't fix the problem (and I kinda got bored) so I moved to the Slog. Wtf? The slog? You mean that swimming pool run by ghouls? Yup. I saw a video on YouTube where some guy had made a huge wall around the edges of the flooring. I decided to do the same, but have the whole place run by robots. I couldn't get the ghouls to leave to I killed them and hid their bodies in an abandoned bus. Now I've spent nearly all my materials (mostly aluminium, wood, concrete and fibre optics) building up my base and creating about 15 robots to carry out different duties such as harvesting food, patrolling and scavenging for parts. I only need to build beds for the few humans I have running my shops. Life is good.

I think I had 150-200 Defense for 700+ water and never once was attacked.

Your defense needs to be higher than your food+ water output
