Over the last few months i have heard many people in the destiny community overreact over the use of fire bolt grenades. Complaints are particularity used during trials matches. First, i'd like to state that i am sick and tired of you precious snowflakes complaining about every little thing in the game. One week it is the Doctrine and the next it is the last word. I will weave in "overpowered" weapons during my rant but let me get back to the fire bolt issues. Yes, the fire bolt grenade is best nade in the game. Just because something is the best in the game does not make it overpowered. Every subclass has their strengths and weakness. The sung-singer is known for its fire bolt nade and melee. The melee is great because when your melee is charged you will get a flame shield when punching an enemy which really helps for close combat situations. People misunderstand why a fire bolt can be so deadly in the right hands. The nade is trash without viking funeral and touch of flame. You need the mentioned TWO PERKS ACTIVE from your skill tree in order to make the nade worth using. People try to say you can't counter the fire bolt. Mastering Shade step and the twilight allows you to dodge a fire bolt in most cases. Furthermore, team shooting a warlock with void vang is highly effective. If a warlock throws a fire bolt his nade won't cause burn damage if he or she dies as it hits the ground. This rule applies even if the nade goes off. The nade needs to land, explode, and start to burn before whoever threw it dies. That being said, a warlock is at risk when trying to push with a nade because he or she can be sniped or team shot before the nade is able to go off or be thrown. People complain about playing against three sung singers in trials!? I am always shocked when i hear people complain about this type of team. Think about it, those sun singers have arguably the easiest super to counter. Any average sniper or shotgun player can easily pick off a self rez warlock. Self rez helps in limited situations. Occasionally, I will win a round because i use my self rez when everyone is dead. The super itself is a support piece as it is not meant to wipe out a team that knows what they are doing. Playing AGGRESSIVE against a team of sun singers will increase your chances at beating a team that knows how to play as a warlock. I run this class all the time, and the easiest people to beat are those that stationary snipe. I will simply push with my primary and hastily throw a fire bolt at camping snipers trying to get a quick pick. I have my team cover me with a sniper or push with me or from a different angle. The goal of this tactic is to disorient the stationary team by hitting them with nades. Winning the round becomes a lot easier when we hit our nade and get an orb down. If teams pushed effectively and covered each other from different angles it would be a lot harder for me to successfully push with these nades. Allowing the round to last near its end give me time charge my nade so you're making matters worse by waiting for me to challenge you. Skip, lighting, and smoke plus wall are all great nades too. In the right hands all the mentioned nades can be used effectively. I win my matches by trying to end the rounds as fast as possible because i realize my super sucks while a team of titans and hunters will wreck me with their supers if i let them get and use them. I try to end the rounds quick by using the void vang chest piece. I play aggressive and end most of my matches in 7 or 8 minutes tops. Better teams require me to play slower, but better players tend to complain more about fire bolts than do developing or struggling players. These good players complain because its a strategy that doesn't let them pick everyone off with a sniper. This strategy forces snipers to be aware of their surroundings and evens the playing field for aggressive players that push with a shot gun off spawn. I have been using the sun singer class since day one because it was the first class i choose to play as. I am not one for change so i decided to play most of my time on that character. I want all you complaining goons to realize what you are complaining about. You're complaining about a nade and a punch for a class that only has those two things going for it. I and most sun singers only use this class when playing trials anyways as using it in rift or control makes it harder to get 25 to 30 kills due to the terrible super. Complain about a nade that is only effectively used in trials is pure insanity. Always remember that every subclass has its own strengths which draw people to those classes for various reasons. There is nothing wrong with the overuse of fire bolts or weapons like the mida, doctrine, 1000 yard, or theory D. There should be specific weapons and perks that are used over others. These types of weapons and equipment are what make games competitive. Having everything as equal can turn your game into a stale battlefield or battlefront type of experience. Any moron that complained about the battle rifle in Halo 3 was instantly shut down. The battle rifle was overused and "overpowered" but i did not see the same kind of nonsense i am seeing from that community as i am seeing with this one. Obviously nerfs need to be applied when necessary. I believe Bungie over nerfed the hammer class which has turned that class into nothing, but their decision to nerf the thorn has really benefited the competitive community. Nerfing the fire bolt would ultimately destroy the sun singer sub class and possibly the use of warlocks in trials entirely. Using this class makes you slow, the jump sucks, and the only way to have titian like armor is to use a stupid overrated exotic helmet called "Ram". Most of the so called "great" players tend to snipe while using smash, blades, or increasingly popular shade step. The fact that they tend to stay clear of playing as a warlock shows you they'd prefer their aggressive wipe out supers over the turtle like moving sun singer. Try running away if you get bolted or simply change your strategy against a team of sun singers or an individual that can use fire bolts effectively. Always remember that every strategy can be countered with the right people, weapons, communication, and class set up. Stop complaining about one of two perks that make the sun singer viable to use in one of the many game modes in the Destiny multiplayer.
Rants over lil snowflakes.
