I really hate it when companies pull crap like this.
I was super excited at first, because Chroma is awesome looking. Then we find out you can only potentially earn 3 per week. You want more, you have to pay real money to gamble - it's the same BS CoD has been doing lately and BDobbins criticized the hell out of Activision for. Guess it was only a matter of time before they did it to Destiny as well.
On top of that nonsense, Chroma is a consumable material, and you can't even use it unless the item you wish to decorate has the appropriate slot. It's mountains upon mountains of RNG done on purpose to encourage Silver sales.
I don't mind so much that they're charging for emotes (still sleezy but then again, MMOs do it for free because of monthly subs so it evens out) but this is just another low blow. Like shaders aren't annoying enough.
*sigh* and you just know there's going to be thousands if not millions of people who will happily throw money at this. Keep feeding the beast people... don't demand actual value for time and money invested.

3 RepliesSince this game has come out, there has been a total of $140 of game that had to be purchased to keep up with the latest expansion. Now, take that and divide it by the 18 months or so that this game has been out, and... You get a cost thus far of about $7.77 a month to play this game with the expansions. Now, here's the real kicker, throw in the added cost of a year and a half of the console premium services (~$90) and the total is $230, which brings the new amount to about $12.77 a month. Looks pretty in line for other games that have a subscription cost doesn't it? Of course you can do more that just play destiny in all its fanciness with the console services, but that's not the issue here.

3 RepliesI really want to know how much they made from "silver" it cannot be that much!

2 RepliesFrom what i saw, you get two from one sterling treasure box if it is included. I am assuming that we can earn at least the crucible and poe box on each character (not confirmed or denied from what i have seen) and possibly the postmaster. That means 7 or 9 boxes per week. Lets say you get chroma in half of those boxes. Per week, that'd be 8 peices of chroma, enough to fully "chroma" two full sets of armor, and 7 or 9 pieces of armor. total. So i don't really think you did the math for this.

I thought I read forma at first.

You don't have to buy it...

Edited by REVIVE PHARMER: 4/1/2016 3:27:54 PMThey have to pay the settlement and legal fees to the design team they should have kept. Bungle is stupid and they want us to pay for it.

If it's a cash crab Then don't buy it

Oh shut up

2 RepliesHave you ever had that moment when you just can't stop laughing at someone else's stupidity

I suggest you re-read or re-watch the stream bungie released. Everything (excluding dlc) that is being sold are optional. Key word optional. I don't understand people who writes long ass post to complain about something, but they don't take the time understand what they're complaining about make no sense. Optional- means that you have a choice, it's not required, it's not mandatory... For you to write this to complain about something that is optional is stupidity at a different level.
-
Welcome to Destiny, where the only surprising thing is that people are still, somehow, surprised.
-
No need to read. Evolution of stupid here.

Did anyone else think OP said Crota instead of Chroma?

It's mountains upon mountains of RNG done on purpose to encourage Silver sales
you do know that you can reroll the chroma node for glimmer, right? also you're technically guaranteed 3 per week since Chroma armour breaks down into a random Chroma colour. in addition you can get up to 2 of the "possible rewards" from 1 box, meaning you have the (rather unlikely) potential to get 9 Chroma in 1 week without paying a cent

1 ReplyChroma isn't a crab, it's a dragon!

People are willing to spend money. Why wouldn't they try to grab at it?
-
do you even CS:GO OP? if you wanna whine about "cash" grabby games look at CS:GO or TF2 honestly people freggin rent weaps in TF2. please lodge your foot up your anus because you aren't forced to buy shit in this game (excluding DLC).

Edited by Cold Brew Killer: 4/1/2016 2:25:52 PMWell from what I remember in the stream you can either grind for the sterling packages or buy em if you can't seem to wait that long. So no one is forcing you to buy the packages, if you can't deal with the grind then why are you even playing this game? Plus these companies have to make money in some way, you can't expect them to just give you everything for free. I'm not the type of person to give in into all these micro transactions but if I like something sure I'll get it because I enjoyed that certain content
