The only extremely good Fusion Rifle right now is Susanoo and it's class-specific. It reminds me of the way Fusion Rifles were back in Year-1. It shouldn't be coming down to using only a handful of weapons in the entire Destiny inventory.

    • Yes, they could definitely use a stability buff. From base Fusions to Exotics like the Vex Mythoclast they could all use a buff.

    • They need impact buffs with charge time nerfs.

    • I never thought I'd say it 3 months ago, but no. Outside of legendary hand cannons and low RoF ARs, balance is in a really good place.

If they would give them more reserve ammo (around 40) and increased range, i guess they should be fine.

      • Fix the disappearing beams and they're good. It is extremely frustrating to hit a guy deaf-on and do zero damage because the beams disappear.

        • I don't know exactly what it is that need, but there's something about them(not the charge rate) that's the reason fusion rifle users have a lower KD than shotgun or sniper rifle users

          • Yes. They've been garbage since the first nerf. Buff shotguns, autos, pulses, and handcannons along with them. All the nerfs have turned Crucible into a slow, boring, campfest.

The only problem that I have with them are the bolts vanishing should you get hit with a lethal shot at the same time that you fire. It's inherently high risk to use anyways so chances are that you are going to be getting shot as you are charging and lining up the shot. If I do everything right and line up the shot and fire, the bolts should not simply vanish because of travel time and the other player's shot hitting me first. That's some serious bullshit. That issue aside, I think fusion rifles are very capable in experienced players hands. In other words, working as intended. They require a lot of dedication and practice to developing the sort of consistency and confidence to make them viable. Players that just pick one up and expect immediate results are often disappointed. It's easy to blame the weapon but that is generally not the case. Almost always if I miss a shot, it's because I was a total spaz and didn't time my shot properly. I think it's also easy to gloss over other factors that add to the inconsistency that a lot of players cite when they complain about fusion rifles, e.g., lag, flinch, enemy movement, your positioning and movement, and bolt travel time. There is a complexity to using them that will always make them a niche weapon. We can already achieve max stability with the high impact archetype. Increasing stability should not be on the table. Maybe range, which would help make it easier to lead targets.
