I played POE a lot when it first came out. It is not really that difficult, especially levels before Skolas. It is 2016 now. What ever selfish reason Bungie has not added matchmaking to most their events, is holding the game back. Even Division has matchmaking for all their hardest events. People do not like having to go to forums to search for people. Even if you get a bad group in matchmaking, you can just back out and try again. With LFG, you'll get a bad group anyways and have to do the whole ridiculous process again. And I have lots of friends who play (or used to play, not recently) but there's always those times when none are on and I want to play PoE, or Crimson Doubles, or Trials, or Raid.. This is something so simple that would improve the game and it's not there. Just add a Kosiak in the tower and you can matchmake with the options you select. (Mic, level, etc.. Custom matchmaking)
(This would be optional of coarse. You could still play with friends. Would be nice if it was just there for when you needed it)

Honestly I agree Matchmaking Needs to be implemented or an in game LFG and quite frankly the point fire-teams consist of 3 players is honestly the dumbest decision I've seen a major gaming company make . Seriously why isn't it a four player co-op ya know actual tactical teams of 4 who ever heard of a 3 man team being implemented in any game but destiny it's fricken ludicrous. Raid teams should consist of 8 member squads. However because bungovision is obsessed with 3 member squads and the number 7 for reasons that none of the gamming community understands at all.

1 ReplyEdited by MrsCryptarch: 3/31/2016 3:41:20 PMRight, but how the hell would it really work though??? Think about it 6v6 is laggy enough and half the time i'm playing with and against people from Mexico. Will this optional raid matchmaking be with people from MY area with MY connection???? Will they always find someone who speaks English??? Will there be a kick mechanic? How long will it take me to get into a full group? Did they already start? If I leave a group will I get put right back into the one i just left?? Idk I want raid matchmaking but Bungie has to fix their matchmaking system. Besides why would they implement another matchmaking system into POE just for this little update that's gonna be dead by September/October anyway???? They've learned that the community complains no matter what. And we get a free package in the postmaster every week just for doing nothing. So appreciate that.

Before you read further let me be clear. I'm in complete support of optional matchmaking in every Destiny activity. That said, on to my point of view.
Even if you get a bad group in matchmaking, you can just back out and try again.
These forums would be littered with rants and complaints about how people spend an hour or more getting to the last part of some ingame activity they MM'd into and it turns out the MM teammates caused problems and this time was "wasted".
With LFG, you'll get a bad group anyways and have to do the whole ridiculous process again.
LFG sites have matured over the last year with filtering features. Right in the UI the Planet Destiny LFG tool will show if the people you're intending to group up with have completed the raid or not and if so how many times. This kind of info minimizes your exposure to completely random teammates who have zero experience and will likely result in a frustrating experience if you're not ready to Sherpa them through. Can I expect that kind of filtering and sifting to be applied in Bungie implemented ingame MM'ing? I'd love it if they did but right now the way MM'ing works doesn't seem to take those kinds of variables into account. Nanji's 2¢.

1 ReplyYou can trade gear in the Division now. See you in the Dark Zone!

"We would love to get to a place someday where you can advertise your intent to people. Where you can say 'I want to do this. Are you looking to do this with me?' But we have absolutely no plans to do raid matchmaking at this time." -LUKE SMITH Are you really disappointed? Are you really surprised they don't add it? I know he says "raid matchmaking" so don't jump my shit yet think of nightfall, old poe, it hasn't changed for over 1 year. This company gives two poops how you feel as long as the wallets get fatter in their pockets. I hope matchmaking happens but the hopes are low with this one gaurdians.
Extremely low

Anyone else disappointed BUNGIE didn't add matchmaking to all Prison of Elders?
I am not only disappointed for myself, I am disappointed for the future of this game.

1 ReplyAnd with that note I will go back to the Division and Warframe or other games that have MM for everything. Also waiting for new content and a less punishing RNG/leveling system. The current structure is just too much like work and that's a 4 letter word which are typically unsavory.

With a 35 minute run time there really is no reason not to. I wish bungie would give a clear reason every time they choose not to implement it. But I doubt they will because the reason isn't difficulty like raids. It's likely just no matchmaking forces us to find people making endgame players recruiters as well. Not to mention the ad revenue from third party.

What did you expect? They've kept it this way for two years...

There are millions of Destiny players, very few are on Bungie.net and post on any Forum or use third party apps like LFG. By that fact alone you can assume that most require matchmaking in all content! It can only increase the number of players in the game. We were all noobs with strangers matched up on LFG trying to get through the Raids when they first came out....we made it through eventually and made friends along the way.

Am I disappointed? No. Would it be nice? Yes.

DISAPPOINTED

Not even surprised

No matchmaking is primarily the reason I've not done any of the endgame content. Looking forward to the new PoE, but not happy that it isn't matchmade for the higher difficulty.
-
Sadly I do not think that they will ever introduce OMM in Destiny, but am bumping every post asking for it in the hope that we find it in Destiny 2 . If not I won't be buying the game and whilst I am only one person how many more single people will react in the same way..

There's no excuse not to have matchmaking especially on a 3 player activity.

4 RepliesHugely, still never did the first round because of this. Option, not mandatory, just an option. For poor saps like me short on gaming time and not willing to spend time LFG'ing with the exact same result of being matched with complete random strangers ;) Weekly. Daily MM also appreciated.

More disappointed they didn't add any content.
