I love how Atheon, one of the most powerful Vex to exist and capable of converging or splitting entire timelines, was a push over compared to a disgruntled Kell with a scorch cannon

  • "Kell of Kells", last I checked the other Kells never called him that. Twas a title he gave himself

  • Other Kells? You mean the one's who was dead? I thought he was simply a coward who didn't deserve the title, but after the missions of H.O.W, he definitely deserved the title. I mean, he is still time traveling to this day!

  • Not at all. As we know, the House Winter and House Devils Kells are the only two dead. They were also the two weakest houses. House Kings Kell is still very much alive, and there is the potential for there to be an Exile Kell. As for Skolas still "time traveling to this day" Yea no... No we killed him dead. His ass hasn't done any time jumping since

  • Alright you got the Kell part correct, but the time traveling? Did you remember the end if the first mission? How Petra said she was getting signals of Vex technology? Which was said before Skolas invaded the Vault of Glass? Essentially, we are just looping through a timeline of fighting Skolas over and over. So in essence, he's a paradox that will never be corrected.

  • Not entirely. He succeeded in harnessing the Vex power to warp through the 4th dimension. BUT we have to remember the ceaseless paradox is only present within the Vault of Glass, once you leave the Vault you lose that power to literally never entirely die. Skolas possesses the Vex power to warp through the 4th dimension, but he can only implement himself in one reality at a time without being inside the Vault. If we were to fight him within the Vault, then it would be a case of Atheon again. Just killing his past and future versions with never being able to truly kill him. Buuut he is outside the Vault, and at the point we kill him in PoE he is in our reality and none other. Therefore when we kill him, he is dead in his entirety.

  • On the contrary, on the first H.O.W mission, the end was a questionable one. There were supposedly traces of Vex technology which happened before we chased Skolas right? So once we reached the Vex citadel, we saw him returning from a time gate. But he returned while bringing the dead forces of the Wolf house. But what happened when he came from the time gate? What was he doing? He could've changed the past for all we know and we may face a future threat because of it. But what I really believe is that he simply told his past self to jump through a time gate, causing use to face the past Skolas. So the Skolas who we face is the past Skolas while the other Skolas is free roaming the galaxy.

  • But there's still the issue of him being outside the Vault. If Atheon were to leave the Vault, he would lose his numerous copies of himself throughout time because he loses the paradoxal powers of the Vault. So one can assume that even of Skolas changed past timelines to favor House Wolves, the changes would be halted while he is outside the Vault. Otherwise why didn't he warp himself through time when we fought him in the Prison and change the past yet again so evade capture or even defeat us?

  • Well I think you can only time warp with the use of a timegate for large distances...

  • There's still the issue of the Vaults power being limited to being only inside the Vault though
