It was the moral thing to do, it saved more lives than it killed because Japan wasn't going to surrender that was quite clear.

Indeed.

1 ReplyAnime exists. So yeah.
-
yes. we just need to fry the middle east now
-
It was a necessary thing, even if people don't agree with it. The Japanese would have never surrendered until we defeated every troop they could provide.
-
We drop the bombs as more of a test. No one really knew what they were going to do
-
34 RepliesAll of these responses almost make me want to think that you've all been subjected to 70 years of history and propaganda written by the victors ;). I can see the logic in the arguments but come on guys... We nuked and fire bombed tons of civilians. That is really hard to justify no matter how you spin it. America, Great Britain, and Russia (especially Russia) should have been tried for war crimes along with the Germans at the farce known as Nuremberg.
-
23 RepliesAnime is proof that more than two should have been dropped.
-
2 RepliesWe should have dropped some more to make sure we destroyed all the anime
-
Sadly yes, and also this is no laughing matter, so everyone who thinks it is can go screw themselves.

11 RepliesYes those japs deserve it for pearl harbor

Edited by ProphetOfRegret: 3/29/2016 10:30:35 AMwhats done is done so it doesnt really matter what you think of it, unless you are going to stop it happening again, then by all means go ahead. yes i know i sound harsh but its the truth.

We should've dropped more

1 ReplyPeople still debate on this? What happened happened. The Japanese are doing just fine, excelling even.

THEY WERE -blam!- ANYWAY
DIR WITH HONOR, MOTHER-blam!-ER
It made them surrender in a flash. It was very necessary.
-
Yes because omnicide turns me on.

3 RepliesOP is wrong. Japan was going to surrender, when I can I'll send you links to Japan's total and utter surrender and proof that The Allies knew. America dropped the bombs to show dominance through mass destruction so it wouldn't happen again. Please post links to your proof that it was morally right to drop the bombs OP.

Yes. All through the pacific campaign they showed they were willing to fight to the last man. When we got to Okinawa civilians were committing suicide jumping off cliffs. They were taught to attack us with pitchforks etcetera if we invaded. When the emperor finally did surrender they tried a coup. Surrender wasn't even in their vocabulary. And the nukes were bad but the casualties from fire bombing far exceeded the death toll from the nukes. The number of casualties projected from a invasion were insane. Civilian and military.

5 RepliesEdited by Reach: 3/28/2016 3:45:03 PMWe dropped flyers, they knew, the emperor told them to stay. So yeah, it ended a war a lot faster and it could have been done with less casualties.

How will I be able to get my daily dose of hentai??

2 RepliesI think it's really hard to justify but ultimately yes, because as everyone says. Japan probably wouldn't have surrendered. But flip the situation, would the US have surrendered? I don't think we would have. I think the US is too proud to quit like that, which is a good and bad thing. Ultimately yes I think it was justified, but that could be my US schooling talking, not me.

The nuke was dropped on THG

We should stop trying to validate and justify past atrocities and worry about the future instead. Seems like a better use of our time, wouldn't you agree?

4 RepliesHonestly..... No...... We should've used our naval and air presence to negotiate peace, while still allowing them to colonize China if they wanted to. None of their imperialistic doctrine was a threat to us, they just wanted to expand, however they made a critical mistake in attacking us. US! Wrong they were so they got the nuke
