With Indiana recently restricting abortion even further, I feel like this is always a good topic of discussion.
Would you? Why or why not?
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) signed a controversial abortion bill Thursday that, among other things, would ban the procedure if it is sought because the fetus was diagnosed with a disability or defect such as Down syndrome.
Shortly before his deadline to act on the sweeping measure, Pence called the law “a comprehensive pro-life measure that affirms the value of all human life,” according to the Associated Press.
The law, which was passed by the legislature earlier this month, would make Indiana the second state in the nation, after North Dakota, to ban abortion in cases where a fetal anomaly is detected. It also would bar the procedure in instances where the decision is based on the sex or race of the fetus. And it could make Indiana the first state in the country to require that fetal remains be buried or cremated, rather than treated like medical waste.
Yes because abortion supports feminism

Looks like your mother didn't.

1 ReplyEdited by Sabre013: 3/28/2016 5:55:50 PMWelcome to the Bible Belt. I -blam!-ing hate my state. All I ever see in politics around here is "I'm a pro-life conservative and I will make laws based on the Christian God." I absolutely hate it. I don't affiliate with either political party as their both stupid, and am atheist, which means everyone who knows that other than my close friends, also atheist, hates me. After this was passed, I gave up all hope of a change in Indiana. I'm getting out of here after college is done. I'd abort as it's not worth it. They have to constantly be cared for from birth until death, they contribute nothing to society and humanity, which means they have a really shitty quality of life aside these examples. This is a prime example of stupidity prevailing.

10 RepliesIf I knew my child was going to be a retard, I'd abort. If I knew it had that small head disease... Abort. I can't keep from laughing when I see them... What makes you think I can raise it?
-
My govener is really stupid. Why not allow a child to live just because of a medical issue? It's ultimately up to the expecting parents, not some fückhead in an office.
-
That's sad - your mom didn't abort you... You'd think you'd share her views on life

4 RepliesBeing pro choice, and a dude, it's not my choice to say if a woman can and should abort a child. Nor should it be anyone else's choice, but the pregnant person's own.

I wouldn't get pregnant.
-
Yes. Not patient enough to take care of a potato.

3 RepliesOf course I would. I -blam!-ed to have a human baby not a potato.

Abort the mission!

Of course.
-
Yes but I'll start with aborting you.

1 ReplyAll life is precious. Just because a child has autism that doesn't mean they can't live fulfilling lives and that's not any ones place to decide for them. I know a couple that have had 2 children in a row that have autism. The doctors said neither would be able to talk. They both are chatter boxes. You couldn't get them to shut up. And they're both very happy kids.

If you actually do some research you will find that the majority of families that have a child who has downs are actually happier. When my wife was pregnant with our twin boys, testing showed we had a 25% chance of them having it, so naturally we did some follow up research and found that those families are usually closer and because of the constant care, parents are home more and take a more meaningful impact on all the kids lives. I can't remember the sites or anything as it was a year and a half ago but it did give me some peace. Obviously there are other scenarios also, as I'm sure plenty of families where ruined also. But as a dad, you shouldn't give a damn what your kids have but love them 100%. Also, boys came out fine minus one needing open heart surgery but that's completely unrelated.

Me to your posts

I'd abort a child if I want to
-
No, not if he/she can live a happy life and be able to ignore those who are mean to them. If I knew they were going to be sad their whole life because they are different than yes.
-
I'd rather have it not suffer.
