Why Destiny year 2 has fallen short with the new update

Ok I would like to start this by acknowledging the other side. I've played Destiny since year one and have clocked in enough hours that it's probably unhealthy. I know the ins and outs of Destiny. Beaten the raids, gone flawless, used loot caves, and everything you could possible do in destiny. I love this game and I understand the arguments on why this update is great. This update is free which is amazing for bungie to give all the content in year 2 (with the exception of the TTK) especially since their previous history of making everything 20$ or more still stings our wallets. Plus the drought is finally being quenched a little bit before destiny 2. We get some of our old content updated. Bungie has given enough content for the amount of hours we've put in it. We shouldn't feel entitled to content especially free content. Those are all the main arguments for destiny but are they really arguments? They're settlements. The community justifying this update, but here's the thing you can be upset with this game and still love it. You say that the expectations are too high for Bungie and are they? We hold this game to a very high standard because of all the playtime and money we've put in the game. But I just want to hold destiny to the expectations they set with year one. Last year we got the full release of the game (which was shotty at best) and 2 DLCs and the normal rotation of IB. In these DLCs we got a raid, PoE, Trials of Osiris, a new social space, new weapons and armor with different perks (including shank burn), primaries that actually did elemental damage, and we felt a drought of content with all that stuff. Now year 2 what did we get? The TTK was amazing I will not disagree with you. Although it was a bit more expensive it gave us many new things. To compare it to year 1 it's the equivalent to the first release of the game which is completely fine I'm OK with more hive story and reskinned enemies with slightly different mechanics and new gear with similar stats and perks. In fact TTK left us in the same state that vanilla destiny left us with around November to December. But after this point is the biggest issue. We got Dark Below at Xmas giving us new gear and a raid. In year 2 what did we get? Festival of the lost which was just a time to run around looking like other people and no gameplay changes and we got sparrow racing which was a month long with just 2 maps that was milked for way too long. Then came Crimson Doubles ..... that was just kinda lame it was lazy mechanics and could've been something they put in thethe game permanently but just milked the event. Now we get this update which takes everyone's least favorite part of year 1 and doesn't even give us a taken skolas WHICH WOULD BE SO COOL. But we get more reskinned gear and not to mention all the gear they've held back. Like all the weapons they had but didn't give us in the armory. Those beautiful exotics they could've given us. All those shaders and that ship that no one knew how to get. These are all such simple things Bungie could've done but didnt. Then all the crucible connection problems and the horrible sandbox leaving thorn still annoying and the doctrine, mida, and last word pretty much unstoppable. Just simple changes that are soooo easy to actually please the community, because if the community was happy there wouldn't be all these posts. When was the last time u played sepiks or phogoth or crota or atheon? All these great year 1 activities with great mechanics that are gone. What about your Jellyhorns? Or Mythoclasts? All these things Bungie could give u very easily but choose not to. I know this post is waaaay too long but that's how many issues there are and I haven't even mentioned the lying to the community. So next time you try to justify Bungies decisions just remember all the things they could do but choose not to.
