Way back in the day RNG sucked ass. We hated it, those of us who waited almost all year to get the ghorn, hated RNG. But it was RNG that kept us playing, VOG, Crota, and PoE .... over and over.
Now they changed some exotics to quest based, most of us exploited 3oC.
By now we eventually realize that there's a better chance of Kim Kardashian not doing a selfie than getting an exotic drop or anything good in nightfall. "HaHA you got a sparrow horn, i got 3oC, to bad for you...."
So, how about bring back some of the old school guns we want, Fatebringer, Icebreaker, etc
Or overall changing drops to be RNG/quest/tracking based.
You go do a new gunsmith, he'll have all the cool exotic/legendary list. But it'll be RNG/tracking based and you can only hold 1 weapon tracker at a time and the same tracker can be only on one character at a time.
So lets say I picked the fatebringer, tracker states 0/100 tries, meaning I'm guaranteed to get it on my 100th attempt. Have it still be RNG, maybe I get it at my 3rd try but another guy gets it at 99th. Same old school rules, all VoG loot drops once a week and the tracker only completes if you finish the whole raid. (none of this "I just need Templar crap")
Do similar w/ exotics,
Fix faction rep, seriously 5 rep for patrol. Have all three get some rep but change it to a Tier based.
Base (Crucible/Vanguard) 15 rep
2nd - 10 rep
3rd - 6 rep
4th - 4 rep

Troll explanation
-0/100 for fatbringer is an example, could be 0/10 or 0/1 ... i don't control it, its just a F'ing idea
-why VoG, cuz fatbringer only drops in VoG
-why do I need to finish VoG when I just need fatebringer, b/c some other mofo might want the Vex.
-I don't have time to finish VoG..... well sucks for you slacker.
-why not more examples or weapon/gear, I don't F'ing work at bungie,
-why are Crucible/Vanguard 1st, cuz they always have been
-what faction is 2nd, 3rd, 4th, you pick them in whatever order you F'ing want
