I think it's a little sad that the things people get excited about are old things.
"Omg we have these old weapons back!"
"Omg we have this game type back!"
Where's the new stuff that can make people excited?

Welcome to the Halo community — recycling old shit is good; new shit "kills Halo."
-
Edited by Helljumper: 3/24/2016 4:19:17 AMIt's because the new generation of Halo players know and understand that the old stuff in infinitely better.

Yeah, just like Armour-Lock, bloom, slow movement speed, health packs and no melee trades, right?
-
You consider Reach to be old? I'm talking about the trilogy.
-
Almost six years and a handful of webpage redesigns? Yeah. Moving on, however, I did mention things from the first trilogy.
-
6 years is nothing, at least to me. It seems as if Reach is your main focus. For their times, nobody had an issue with movement speeds. I don't see what's wrong with health packs. Armor lock was good in a PvE sense. Shouldn't have been in matchmaking but I liked it against covies. And I don't know about you but I thought melee trades in 3 and Reach were hilarious. You're duking it out with another player and then suddenly both of you turn into Nasa rockets and fly across the map. Then again, I don't care for being overly competitive anymore. I play games solely for fun and that's what Bungie's Halo games provided.

Applause applause
defend halo till the end yeah
Edited by Capt Explodabob: 3/24/2016 7:48:46 AM
6 years is nothing, at least to me.
Well, to put it in perspective, six years is enough time to release two main Halo titles. Not really "nothing" in the context of this conversation, yet ultimately pointless to dwell on, however.
It seems as if Reach is your main focus.
Aren't you the one who keeps bringing up Reach. Let's mark this as the second time I've attempted to move away from the Reach subject.
For their times, nobody had an issue with movement speeds.
Not true. Marty O'donnell and other ex-employees of Bungie stated that sprint was to be introduced with Halo 2 due to QA feedback denoting that the Spartans were too slow. Obviously we all know what kind of developmental hell Halo 2 went through, and thus no sprint. Even still, we're talking about old mechanics trumping the new mechanics, and in this case the older, slugish movement mechanics do not trump the new.
I don't see what's wrong with health packs
Back to Reach again? At the time, the health pack system in place removed the damage-bleed effect from the shield systems. The outcry was large and 343 later fixed it when they took control of Reach. Combat Evolved had them, but at that point we didn't know how good it was without them. And that was attempt number three. Armour-Lock? It speaks for itself — literally the worst addition to Halo, and possibly any video game. It killed Slayer in Reach. Number four.
I thought melee trades in 3 and Reach were hilarious.
Not so funny—in Halo 3 anyway—when players knew to melee just before they were about to lose a fight because the game failed to take into account Spartan health and just killed both Spartans. Reach — Reach rewarded whoever could mash RB the fastest (no shield bleed). And God damn! Number five!
I play games soley for fun
Well fun is subjective. If I find it fun to win a game and you find it fun to see Spartans fly through the air thanks to a broken gameplay mechanic then that's fine, but neither opinion objectively makes any of the Halo games good or bad.

Warzone excited people...
-
Like 343 can make good new stuff.
-
Well that just put sh*t into perspective.
-
Care to elaborate?
-
Seeing as anything new 343 adds has so far been detrimental to the games, I think that's ok.
-
Ricochet was fun.
-
That's bs....
-
Yeah, but if they constantly repeat it and scream it loud enough it becomes true... to them.
-
They want what bungie gave to halo back makes feel right
-
I'm sure that made sense in your head.
-
Sure did but not outside
-
All I want is doubles with H2 BR starts. Valentine's doubles playlist was my best experience in H5 so far. Every team was competitive, not once did my partner and I face a team that got less than 15 kills on us.

I was screaming when I initially heard about Warzone during the E3 reveal.

We're excited for the firefight but we saw a brute plasma rifle and we think it's returning.
