Shade step glitch | cheating or no?
I'm still debating with friends about this one. Fans of super smash bros wouldn't call wavedashing a glitch, they would call it skill. But is the shade step glitch the same?

As a person who runs shadestep, personally I don't think it's cheating, however it gives the player an unfair advantage and should be removed, it's an exploit after all.

2 RepliesI don't understand why people do it anyway. Shadestep is super effective by itself so using it seems lame but it is what it is. I can't say I wouldn't try it sometimes if I was able to do it consistently.

Exploiting a glitch isn't cheating. However, it's frowned upon and hopefully they patch it soon.

It's like the infinite arrow glitch. Or the infinite hammer throwing spam. Is it a glitch? Yes Will you be banned for it? LOL No Is it considered cheating? Yes Is it unfair? Wavedashing is definitely a glitch. I've played in tourneys around here for well over a decade, and I don't mean to say I don't do it, but it's definitely just as much a glitch as shadestep shooting XD

Exploitation of a glitch is cheating. If the game developers didn't intentionally want it in the game, then the rest of the game isn't properly balanced to accommodate for the glitch.

Its kinda cheating but I dont think it give you a UNFAIR advantage like with the bow so who cares? All I see is a hunter hopping like a retarded bunny thinking he has an advantage.

Iv personally never figured out how to do it. However I have had someone do it against me and it was pretty much impossible to counter. I probably would class it as cheating.

In my opinion, if you have to use button combos and pulling out your ghost and all this stuff to pull it off it's cheating

I honestly don't know. I mean, that like quarter of a second difference won't really change the general outcome of a gunfight except in very specific situations.
