5 RepliesWalmart logic: Builds 24 check out lines... Yet only 3 of them are open
-
11 RepliesThat will not happen with big businesses with a $15 wage. With small businesses, probably yes.

Thanks Obama.
-
Why are they closing though?
-
1 ReplyOp just got fired from Walmart
-
You think only 60 people work at a Walmart?
-
Actually they would fire only 12 cashiers.
-
That's fantastic news! Maybe Wilco or Target will move in where there leave.
16,000
That's not a lot lol

6 RepliesI'd rather go to target. They have better looking women walking around anyways
-
4 RepliesThat'd be cool if you weren't pulling that out of your ass
-
1 ReplyDid you not even read into this story? Walmart was doing this anyway. And it's old news
-

Walmart has other problems. They have a terrible reputation, amazon has less overhead costs and is starting to impede their business. They reached saturation in the us and cant really expand much more here. After the last resession some stores are in locations that have seen population declines. Plus another factor that completely opposes your thought on it American wages have been stagnet for along time the us consumer has less money to spend which is less money for walmart. There are walmarts in europe where they have unions that pay double what the ones in the us do plus benifits plus 6 weeks paid vacations in accordance with various regulatory bodies in Europe, and those stores are profitable and dont burst into flames. Dont blindly believe corperate ceo's or the politicians they have bought when they explain their reasons.

5 RepliesDon't give a shit. They can cut as many stores as they need to. I shop at COSTCO.
-
So 16k more school shootings?
-
Don't like walmart anyways! They single handedly destroyed all of the small businesses in my hometown by putting one there. Once all of the businesses closed, walmart closed the store and built a super center 15 miles away. My hometown is just starting to get businesses back and I support them instead of walmart.

About time

4 RepliesThe last time I shopped at Walmart: Cashier: Your total is $91. Me: Here's $101. C: *puts $101 on her register, stares at the screen, pauses, thinks for 2 minutes, hands me $20 in change(register clearly stated $10).* Me: You gave me too much, my change should be $10. (Refusing extra money, dumb, I know, but I didn't want her to get fired). C: *pauses, thinks again* Uhhh... I counted in my head, I think I'm right. Me: ok...

2 RepliesEh. I personally like Kroger better anyway
-
Actually this is a current indicator of the economy. However, this will be the case of minimum wage soared like some idiots want.

Considering Walmart pays its employees so little that it sponsors a food drive to donate to its employees at Thanksgiving, instead of paying them more money, makes it hard to believe that they can't cut into that $119 billion in sales.
