Anyone know why? I was talking to my dad about this and when he asked why they were called this I started to wonder and don't actually know why

3 RepliesEdited by DjNormal: 3/21/2016 12:33:52 AMAdds: Additional enemies during a boss fight. Mobs: Short for mobile (not a group). Enemies that move around rather than standing in one place, not to be confused with patrols (Or so my old Everquest friends told me). Pats/Patrols: Groups of enemies that follow a certain path, which often causes them to walk up in you during a fight. Proc: Process (Edit: Proceedure). When a special ability triggers. The Proc rate is the amount of times that ability can trigger per minute. It was a programmer's term as I understand that made its way into early MMOs. Other stuff too... Anyway that's what was on top of my head.

Additional enemies. Adds. Additional enemies. Adds. Additional enemies. Adds.
-
Additional units is a mouthful, adds is easier and faster
-
Still didn't nerf fusion rifles
-
Adds are additional units, not the boss.
-
1 Reply"Adds" or "mobs" have its terminology since the first days of MMORPGs or simply rpgs for some. It's to differentiate a Boss target from the others. For example during Valus Taarc you would say : Take out the adds. That would then mean everything else but the boss.
-
Abbreviating "addition" An addition to the boss.
-
Cuz they have attention deficit disorder.. They show up too the fight, quickly get distracted, they die, and more come back, with add

5 RepliesEdited by Wizsp: 3/20/2016 5:43:07 PMIt's actually ADS which was originally Aiming Down Sights but some idiots implemented it the wrong way. Lol
forgot satire
1 ReplyIt's just a way to say additional enemies. It's been around in games for a very long time. You must be very young to not know this.
-
5 RepliesBecause when more of them respawn, they're being 'added' to the fight.
-
1 ReplyAdds: additional low level enemy used to create mobs.
