So, I believed that I got a God roll on my party crasher +1. It has reinforced barrel, aggressive ballistics(gives same dmg as conspiracy theory), range finder, and underdog. I thought underdog broke the shotgun, but some random competitive dude I met online said those perks are a waste cause the range can only go so high on a shotgun...
Someone school me on this please. Is range finder and underdog useless because the range is already capped on an invisible point or something? I'll leave the party crasher equipped to my titan.

Not really, rangefinder adds only 10% effective range compared to the 20% it used to do before TTK weapons patch nerfed that and shot package. It's not a bad perk but there are better ones to have on a shotty atm. Underdog is certainly a great perk to have thoughm your friends shotty is still very good. The key now is getting aggressive ballistics with max range and a combination of LITC/Kneepads/rangefinder/underdog.

It doesn't. Even triplewreck said so when I asked him.

Edited by PriviIeges: 3/20/2016 1:57:12 AMI think I have the same rolls on mine too... Edit: mine has rifled instead of reinforced.

3 RepliesYou have the perfect shotty. Your friend is a dumbass

Rangefinder offers a 5% buff to range
-
If the range stat is maxed on a shotgun, which reinforced/rifled barrel will do on a Party Crasher/conspiracy theory, then rangefinder doesn't do anything. If your range stat is not maxed, rangefinder adds 10%.
-
Dude whatever you do dont delete this shotgun, its GOD.
-
that's a true god mode shotty
-
2 RepliesActually, in 2.0 patch notes, it states that range can not go over max shotty range. Rangefinder still adds bonus aim assist, but it will NOT increase the maximum range.
-
Rangefinder is useless, underdog isn't. My shotgun felt like a year 1 Matador with underdog active.

Only range cap there is at 100. Which no shotguns get near. You've a godly roll. Good Job

2 RepliesEdited by TurretedBarrel: 3/19/2016 4:02:42 AMFrom what I remember it was changed from 20% bonus to 5% when shot package was removed. And yeah there's no range cap on any gun aside from the stat bar. All range is how far your weapon will continue to do its max damage before it starts falling off. Except on fusion rifles. On those it dictates the bullet speed.

Rangefinder won't make the visual range bar go up because of it being situational. Same with underdog. This means that you have literally one of the best shotgun rolls in the game.
-
There's a soft cap you reach using the barrel upgrades and scope thingies. Perks like Rangefinder push past the cap. God roll shotgun is God. That guy is stupid.
-
I'm no expert but I believe there's no damage cap range. Just way too severe damage falloff. Thanks to you sniper crybabies
-
Maybe he was just hating? Making stuff up? Lol

no rangefinder is great
-
No underdog is a fantastic perk, as for rangefinder it seems noone can agree if it helps or not on a max range shotgun,, best way just play with it and see how it performs ,,

2 RepliesBasically, the range STAT (on the item card) can only go so high. for example, with reinforced barrel + agg balistics on yours, it hits the range STAT cap. However, rangefinder (and other perks that boost range by a percentage) can boost it up past the cap further. It's the stat you see on the item card that is capped, which means that there is a limit to how much range you can get from reinforced barrel, rifled barrel, balistic options, etc.

In this day and age I go for a found verdict type roll. Its much more useful when killing rezs

I don't think there's a cap on range, it has more to do with the spread of the shot. It may have more range, but in that extra range you will only be landing a few shots that will be doing only a little damage. This perk benefitted a lot more when it could be mixed with shot package.
