7 RepliesYes. It doesn't really have a reason to be called a Tom Clancy game.
-
Only from the point of the enemies being bullet sponges, which any gamer whose ever played a loot based RPG should have been expecting. If you weren't idk wtf you were thinking. Everything else is perfect IMO. I think this game is a great edition to the TC titles. Besides which TC are all about real world scenarios, not necessarily about being super realistic on every thing. If you want that Siege is a very realistic shooter.

4 RepliesAs far as I'm aware TC games are primarily based upon their setting, story and weapons. Setting is a real world or realistic at least setting not an asteroid or an alien world etc. Stories always follow a plausible war setting in this case a biological attack on NYC. And weapons all weapons in the game are based upon their real world counter parts. Game mechanics are not what make a TC game.

Well, it's not the mooooost realistic...but neither was Ghost Recon Future Soldier... Anyway, I think that they both managed to juxtapose some realism with some oddities, and that's fine, that's how it should be.
-
4 RepliesWho cares? Is it really that important? I play games to immerse myself in another world, not experience a simulation of the real one.

So many bullets to kill
-
2 RepliesHave none of you heard of the Black Death it killed up to 200 million people in Europe alone A terrorist attack using a plague/virus is not out of this world especially with Trump as a likely candidate for president But Marbug/Ebola becoming spreadable airborne would completely wipe out mankind as we know it

37 RepliesBasically Tom Clancy games have a long history of being as realistic as a video game can be. There hasn't been a single TC game up until this point that hasn't strived for hyper realistic tactical and combat scenarios. Is this an RPG? Yes, but one that has almost none of the hallmarks of a Tom Clancy game. Even the setting is only loosely based on his work. Everyone that has even a passing fancy of him knows that Endwar was always the preferred outcome and The Division was just something he barely touched on and promptly forgot about. So in closing, The Division is a spectacularly mediocre game. It's plenty of fun for lots of people until the new shiny thing comes out. But it is not a Tom Clancy game, and does nothing but hurt the brand.

7 RepliesSo no one is going to acknowledge the absolute silliness of HAWX?
-
Sigh... it's not suppose to be realistic
-
I still find its very unrealistic that in the Rainbow Six Vegas series, only one woman was part of the terrorists you fight.

5 RepliesEdited by Vortex: 3/18/2016 11:04:16 PMYes. Because headshots aren't one hit kills. In Halo they are. At least with a sniper. And that game is UNREALISTIC
-
RPG and 3rd person will make it short lived

2 RepliesGhost Recon Future Soldier??

They never claim it to be realistic

1 ReplyEdited by RübblyRanch: 3/18/2016 6:29:21 PMRPG = Realistic Playing Game *Insert Troll Face here

6 RepliesEdited by CapoBlue: 3/18/2016 3:17:22 PMI see alot of morons who talk as if they knew Tom Clancy personally and think they know how the game should be. It's an RPG Tom Clancy game. Not R6 or Splinter Cell, no it is an RPG Tom Clancy game. The game follows the way the other games where made except for the fact that you can't one shot everyone and that is because Division is an RPG. The game is in a REALISTIC SETTING, just like ALL the other ones. That is what makes it a TC game. It's the setting and story. Also how is realistic if your friend gets shot in the head and can get revived? People need to remember what a video game is.
-
Maybe their technology, but the fact that the game is based on a real world test the U.S. did, and we failed miserably, I think it's pretty cool.
-
Edited by an engram full of bees: 3/18/2016 3:19:16 PMCompared with Ghost Recon Future Soldier? No lol
-
its a great game im a sucker for rpg mmo game mechanics, but irl, i dont care what level you say you are; a bullet to the brain pan is one and done.
-
Not really. Seems to be exactly what Clancy would consider a possible response to a large scale biological event. No space magic. It's fun, I like the weapons, the dark zone has actually turned into a really good time... Good enough.
-
Splinter Cell is pretty crazy
-
Not super realistic but they wanted an rpg. So I can see why it's not realistic. U can't really make a super realistic rpg. At least it's not as unrealistic as some first person shooters. Like call of duty. It's more realistic than that. But yeah, out of the hyper realistic games made by tom Clancy yeah it's the least realistic. But that's not bad in an rpg. It still requires strategy to be really good at.
