Why (I think) PC doesn't end up as popular as consoles.

TL;DR: it's a lot of investment. PC users often claim that their PC's would drive whatever console we're using into the ground. And often, really, they can. They're downright better. So, why do consoles even exist? If PC's are better, why isn't everybody and their dog playing games on PC's? The main reason is that having a gaming PC can be expensive. "Yeah I spent 1,200 USD on an Asus gaming PC, and it runs great!" Yes, it might be great, but you can buy a console, a second controller, and about 10 games for that type of money. I hear you already: "I built a computer that runs faster than that Asus for $200!" If you really did that, kudos. Nice job. But what about those of us who aren't as affiliated with computers? It's a real challenge for people who either don't have the knowledge/time to build a computer. Yes, building a computer is easier than it sounds, but it's still an investment. A console? Go to a store, buy one and a game, and go home and plug it in. I personally rarely use a PC for gaming. It is what it is. I don't invest the time, and I could raise the money, but not worth IMO. Anyone else? Thoughts? Ideas? I should go kill myself? Constructive criticism? Spelling error I didn't see? Too many questions?

  • I have a custom I built for about $700, its nice and I play some games on it but I try to stay away of shooter games like Cods and the Division because you tend to run into quite a few cheaters/modders in those games.
