Not sure if anyone else has seen yet but it's pretty big. If Destiny does become cross platform, what does that mean for us? Is there a difference in the graphics to the point where playing on PS4 would hold slight advantages in the crucible since you might have a few more pixels worth of line of sight on an XBOX player who would have been out of sight to anyone else? Or would it be limited to PvE since finding a team on its own can be problematic if you aren't in a clan and having a wider range of players to pick from would make a lot things about Destiny better. Maybe Destiny won't even go for cross platform but I think it would be the right way to go. I want to test myself against my friends from PlayStation and I can't because I'm on XBOX and I don't imagine that I'm the only one in that boat. Besides, it would be nice to have more people to interact with in game.
Just my two cents.

Edit: title changed so people don't need to remind us of PlayStation-PC cross platform. I'm posting about interconsole networks

Sony hasn't agreed anything, don't get too exited.

2 RepliesIt's up to devs to take advantage of cross platform and use their own servers if that cross platform is with anything other than Windows 10. Because of that and PS exclusives, I don't see destiny spending the money to go cross platform as it wouldn't give them a return profit worth it. If they did, both consoles currently run 1080p @ 30fps. This isn't one of those games you use to compare the graphical advantage of ps4

This would make PS exclusives a thing of the past. There would be court cases lol. Step one allow Destiny cross console gambling in Vegas. Step two, court.

Edited by Erijian: 3/16/2016 3:09:32 PMIf this happens, I really hope 'console war' lobbies become a thing. Pit a team of XBOX players with roughly the same stats VS a team of PS players with roughly the same stats. Which side has the worse noobs?
-
1 ReplySo we get to play against PS exclusives, yeah, no thanks.
-
6 RepliesThat's cool since xbox players will boost my k/d by their terrible skills
-
1 ReplySince bungie is connected to PlayStation, with having timed exclusives and maps, it wouldn't necessarily work, unless they made PvP like call of duty in a way, by having certain playlists that don't allow those exotica or maps, like you don't own the dlc on cod

2 RepliesThis wouldn't be happening if Xbox wouldn't have went from 1st to worst. I've been with Xbox since their first console, which I still have, but really do not like Xbox One. It's slow, clunky, and seems to have more down time than when everything is functioning properly. The 360 is my all time favorite console but PS4 is catching up quickly. Microsoft's new motto should be: "If you can't beat them join them"
-
3 Repliesthis is a reactive move by microsoft to regain market share, all of their products are tanking and their business is hitting the wall. I have 4 xbox ones so i'm no PS fanboy. Sony will never open up cross network play while they hold a larger market share.
-
1 ReplyThey would have to nerf fusion rifles first before this becomes a thing
-
4 RepliesAs long as they don't have to nerf ps4 graphics on cross platform games then this awesome.
-
5 Repliesits xbox n pc only for rocket league
-
Stop with the stupid graphics. I played both. Both seem fine.
-
You wouldn't see a cross-platform between XBOX and Sony because there would be a huge financial loss for both companies. This would be a good thing for all FPS, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Love this

First note to your edit. Has no one brought up the Xbox and PC cross platform play with Shadowrun? Second: why has this taken so long? I've been talking about wanting this for many many years, and I know that's not an original thought.
-
I can't wait!

I love u

3 RepliesI disagree with the graphic advantage. But if PS has some super op exclusive exotic then it would be unfair for an Xbox player to play against them. A game like rocket league where it's an extremely level playing field is a prime choice to make cross platform.
-
This would be a great idea. End the war, bring everyone together at last so we may face the true enemy of gaming, mobile games. I can finally play destiny with my ps4 friends! (Equal number believe it or not, and equal skill. Difficult to test btw, was a ton of fun though!)
-
reasons to buy an Xbox "I don't know any better " can't help you. "all my Freinds play on xbox" not anymore Johnny, doesn't matter what you have buy the machine that's best for you. end of console wars ? or death of xbox ? you decided.
-
3 RepliesFor the love of all GAMING, open the ports. Let us all be able to play together. Except Nintendo, unless they bring pokemon to all consoles. Then the whole console thing will be about what controller feel better or what the company is making available to their subscribers.
-
I'm all for it. Would be able to game with more friends.
-
5 RepliesThey could start by letting Xbox One play with Xbox 360. I believe Bungie indicated at launch that it was possible. I still have friends that haven't upgraded believe it or not.

4 RepliesEdited by Toxic_Hollow: 3/15/2016 10:33:25 PMIt's more like xbox is being phased out. not enough people have one and so online games that run partly off of experience with other players are lacking... well lacking players. expanding the player base by adding PC will help, but games will run better on better PC'S. hackers and moders will have access that will help/hurt games. xbox will die as a physical being and become a service like steam. thoughts people ?

Idk I'd rather keep xbox people outta my online. the ps community is alot better for the games I play
