If you're just running it for the marks, do your teammates a favor and watch a video before joining. Pretty lame having only half the team knowing what the hell they're doing.
Edit: To be clear: I am about the furthest thing from a PvP elitist. I have a 1.09 K/D - not great; not shitty. All I'm asking is that people put a little effort into understanding the game mode before entering. This is not an argument about skill. We all started out as skill-less noobs. Aside from a bit of Halo and Titanfall, Destiny was my first PvP experience (certainly the first where I tried to get good). I had my ass handed to me for months. MONTHS! My argument is simply about being prepared so that you can contribute as best you can to your team. That's all.
Edit2: A few folks have suggested that K/D impacts simply be removed from objective-based game modes (except for Control). I agree with this entirely. No more farming objective-based modes to pad your K/D; which is such a -blam!-ing scrub move, anyway.
