He has a certain hoarse quality in his voice... As though he'd lost a lung in a sword or knife fight before. And even though he might seem to be a little 2D as a character, I seem to see a little more than some community members have attributed to him in the past. Lets take a look at what we know about Emile: He likes his helmet And his knife And other Spartans But not Aliens Or rebels Or anyone else In fact, according to the Halo Wikia, he'd be taken off of Noble Team if they have to deal with insurrectionist activity again, because he's rather brutal towards them... One of his lines is "Trust me. Payback's a -blam!-." Why would he say that? Did someone get revenge on him? He's somewhat heartless He can shrug off a sword to the chest, almost as though he'd done it before. He's not afraid of dying, as long as his enemies die too. He's a villainous shot with a grenade launcher He lost his home to the Covenant He was older than most other candidates when he was selected for Spartan-ness He shared a homeworld with the MC I wonder why he has a damaged voice though... Based on these facts, I'd say he's been captured and tortured by insurrectionists in the past. And because of that, the only people he feels he can trust are those who owe their lives to the UNSC (Spartans, I mean, but maybe some soldiers too). I also think he keeps his helmet on because he has a disfigured face, because this one time, he said to me "There was a time when staring would have made me very self-conscious". This may explain why he gave himself a new face on the outside of his helmet. He also acts like a dick to most, as you may have noticed, but that may be because of his troubled past. And he also has high respect for Noble Team, particularly Jorge, odd as it may seem. And he's willing to give up his life for his mission, which he did epically, might I add. Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you all... What do you guys think of Emile??
