Damage Referee Help!

I recently moved with my family to a fairly isolated home in the mountains in The southeast of America, as a result I'm generally a red bar in the crucible. The hot fix that added the damage referee to all playlists makes all of my weapons feel totally useless and half my melees don't even register! WHAT DO I DO?! I Love destiny and have played loyally almost everyday since I got the game, but this Hot "Fix" just implemented is killing the game for me :,-( From a Guardian who's ready to give up...

  • OK so damage referee seems like a great idea but how does it know who to punish? What I mean is, if I have a really good connection in general but the host PS has a crappy connection in general, and ,because mines not host, my connection is registering the bad connection. How does damage referee know who is the proper machine to penalize? Is it fair to punish mine because the other connection is generally bad? I'm asking because I have a NAT 1 connection with 12 ping, but I've seen on numerous occasions that I'm definitely being the one penalized.

  • Sorry Guardian, Destiny clearly states that you have to have a quality high speed connection to play it. When you have a poor connection, you previously were ruining the PvP environment for everyone else (while it probably was fun for you). Now you are getting a taste of what people have had to deal with when playing you with your poor connection. Sorry, in order to play P2P hosted games, you simply MUST have a premium internet connection. That is just the way it goes. Until your connection improves, your experience in Destiny will not change. Though also take into account if you continuously lag and even cause further problems for those on the red bar lists, Bungie can also suspend you and restrict you from playing Crucible. Their game, their rules .... you agreed to it in the EULA

    • Better you than the good connection people, because that's usually how it goes. We'd be the ones not able to damage laggers. Sorry about your luck.
